Chapter 20

Cale

I stared at the girl in front of me, she's saying something but I'm so caught up staring at her that I don't actually hear what it is she's saying, "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

She smiles at me and says "Can I come in?"

"Yeah of course" I say opening the door a little wider and I watch her as she walks in.

Once again I'm in a trance of some sort. As far as I'm concerned, she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, with a angel like face, light olive skin, long soft dark brown curls that reach a little above her waist. But it's her eyes that really capture my attention, there dark brown, with really long eye lashes. But despite her friendliness, you can tell by her eyes that she holds many secrets.

"Sooooo" she's says fingering her flowing white dress. "Umm..... is there a particular reason t-h-aat your h-here" I stutter embarrassingly. Once again she smiles and says, "Is your uncle here?"

I look at her confused, "yeah" I wonder how she knew I was Filki's nephew. "Great" she says brightly and starts to walk in the direction of his office.

I suddenly feel extremely suspicious. How does she know? She turned around after a few seconds and said "You don't need to be suspicious, I come only to deliver a message" She smiled when she said that and looked like a Angel. But my eyes went from her face to the glowing bangles on her wrist.

She noticed me looking and put her hand behind her back and quickly started walking toward the office.

I shook my head and followed after.

As soon as I saw him, my heart skipped a beat. Saying he was hot would be a understatement of the century, but for some reason, saying he was hot felt wrong, I don't know why but the words angelic or amazing came to my mind. As he spoke I found myself wanting to reach out and stroke his curly hair.

He was beautiful, but totally out of my league. I was the awkward shape shifting loser, who spent her time making wrong....right.

So there was no way I was going to let this boy distract me. I made sure not to let in how flustered I really was, saying everything I said in meaningful tone.

Unfortunately not everything was as casual as I hoped, I let on that I already knew who he was and stupid me instead of waiting for him to lead the way, I started walking to the office as if I owned the place. But I will not let my guard down, I will try not to let him distract me.........but for some reason whenever I look at him, the butterflies wake up In my stomach.
