Chapter 9

Cale (the nephew of Filiki)

"Mele..........MELE" I shout with my hands cupped around my mouth. I hear a laugh coming from the closet.

A smile creeps onto my lips, I'll give her something to laugh about.

"Oh Mele...,your breaking my heart, please.....Show yourself" I over dramatised, "I heard your laugh and knew you were the one, so please, come out!"

And out tumbled Mele, she fell onto the floor with a thud, taking done clothes along with her.

"I found you! Oh Mele....I thought I lost you forever!"

"Cale? Your very good at hide and seek! I'm glad you are, that's going to make the adventure so much easier!"

And with that she flounced out the door.

"Hey......What adventure? I didn't agree to nothing!"

"Just come on silly sausage! This is a very important adventure if you want my future to be bright!"

I roll my eyes at her use of words.

"Who taught you to say that? Your mother?"

She all of a sudden stopped and turned around "My mothers dead"

I froze and stared at her suspiciously, this could be a important piece of information.

"So who takes care of you if your mothers....."

"Dead?" she said finishing off the sentence.

"You of course, now come on Selei doesn't wait for no one! She's really bossy and impatient but I still love her."

"Selei?" I say not sure where this conversations going.

"Is Selei a aunt, or your carer?"

She stared at me in surprise, "She's my sister."

That's when I got it, she was taking us to find her dead sister, the one that Filiki my uncle told me about.

"Now enough of those questions, we have a game to play!"She huffed turning to go outside.

"Mele, we can't play hide and seek outside, where not aloud to" desperately trying block out what I think she's doing.

"Not us silly, where playing with Selei!"

"Mele...your sister......well she's kinda..kinda not here."

"Well where is she?" she asked with curiosity.

"She's...............dead"

And it was on the word dead that she collapsed on the ground, crying a million and one tears.

Terrified I called out "Uncle! UNCLE!"

Then Mele suddenly stopped crying and stood up and started singing my song

Across the mountains

Across the seas

There's a place which I call yours

It's filled with what you call peace

It's filled with all the time

But you were happy to share that place with people who are in need

You played with me

I told you things

I trusted you.........Cale.

And then she ran

Cale is going to get it bad, snap sister she trusted you!
