Chapter 24: When I need love most

I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone, there was no way I wanted to do this but it was what I was made to. I searched through my contacts till I reached one that read Matty T, friend, currently unemployed.

Clicking on it and then putting in a password, the real identity showed up, Mestonaan leader, Agent Kille,

Shapeshifter exterminator.

My finger hovers over the ring button. Was this the right thing? "NO!" a voice inside my heart says, but the boss has taught me never to trust your heart, as it can mislead you. And it can make you feel broken, useless and unlovable. When you need love most.

Like when my parents died, my mother was a mestonaan, so was my father. And they were both killed by shapeshifters. Even if the police say it was wolves, every one of us knows the truth.

Remembering what happens to them made my heart fizzle and the anger that had took over me for many years builded back up.

I know what I have to do, and do it I will.

I press the call button and pretty soon the voice of a well known friend comes into my ear.

"Agent 5987, nice to have you back"

My heart pounded deep inside my chest. One of the downsides of being a shapeshifter is hearing the voices.

The voices are like small news reporters inside your head. They tell you everything about what's happening all over the world for Shapeshifters.

One minute there quiet, the next there yabbering about someone in Berlin, and warning you not to go to Antarctica anytime soon because the rain deer are back.

Yes I know, out of all the animals in the world the rain dear are the only animals feared by shapeshifters.

"So do you listen to any 'shapeshifterian' music or something" a voice jabbers in, groaning I turn back to the tied figure.

Looking at him makes me realise I have no idea what I'm doing.

Sighing I look at my bangles of my arm. They glow as I turn them around,

"There are many creatures out there that would love to harm, the only see able creature that connects heaven to earth, you are going to make things right where ever you go"

I then under stood what I needed to do.

Looking up at Filiki, I say "I am leaving for a while, don't think about running because I know where you will run"

I then wisppear into my angel wings necklace, "Ieles, oat, elem dan entry"

Straight away I am in gods office, safe from everything on earth.

I sigh but when I see god my fury starts to get lifted higher " You lied!"

"No I didn't"

"But you said that people would want to hurt me because of my link to here!"

"They will once they find out, for now we are dealing with a more amateur group of people. But don't be fooled, there good"

"Hell yeah there good! There amazing! Did here how long it took them to find out about that chic in Paris"

He frowns at my speech, "Yes Selei I heard about it, but that doesn't mean there the best"

"There still better than me! I've only known I was a shapeshifter...what four weeks!"

"Yes, but they don't have a inside man" Gods says calmly.

I smile a bit,

"Ok God what do you know?"

His eyes light up,

"Cale is a mestonaan And he knows about you being a shape shifter!" He says, "That's why you need to run as far away as possible"

I'm frozen, I don't move or even breathe.

God seems to notice, and he blows some dust from his hand that swirls around me.

"CALE?!" I scream, "Yes Cale. And his uncle knows about it too, which is why as soon as you land back on earth you need to run and hide!"

"But how did he find out?"

I ask, "That's not important. You need to go know, Filiki is trying to run"

I nod my head and I'm no longer on heaven.

In the corner of my eye I see Filiki halfway through untying his notes freeze.

"You have got to stop disappearing like that, its not normal even for a shape shifter!"

I laugh but don't tell him the truth. "You know Filiki, a very important friend told me some great advice" I say walking towards him.

"Let me guess.............. speak only when spoken to" He said, expecting me to tell him this, but I hold my gaze.

"No.........he told me to run!" I say with a smile and before he can say anything. I've sprinted off into the distance. Far from him and his mestonaan. Now all I

Do is hide, and wait. Because there's no way I'm leaving this earth with a mestonaan still living.
