Chapter 25: Hide but don't seek

Ok, now I am certain for a fact that she's not normal, even for a shapeshifter! It says that shape shifters, although are magical cannot transport them selves to different places. And they only run fast in winter, when the reindeer are here.

It's not winter, and she is a shapeshifter. How is this possible.

I shake my head and untie the rest of the ropes, using my free hand.

With what I'm about to do I think she. Deserves a little head start.

"1, 2, skip a few 99, 100"

I chant as I reach for my phone.

"Hey Cale! Yeah I'm fine......I have no clue where I am........she just left...ok go get her bye.. love you ....oh and Cale don't go alone....this girls not like any shapeshifter I've seen before..........she doesn't just shift shapes...... she runs as fast as lightning and disappears without me.....ok talk to you later"

I shut the phone off and run outside, this is a task I've been waiting for a long time.

I smile as I run, faster and faster.

Swirling in and out of the trees

As I do a song comes into my head and I start to sing.

Feel my way through the darkness

My voice trails off as I see a tall tree right in front of me, closing my eyes I feel a slight pinch and feel swirly dust build up.

I then open my eyes and a small door camouflaged into the wood of the tree opens slightly.

I quickly thank god and turn myself into a possum, scrambling into the small room.

It's cosy enough and knowing I have time, I let myself be carried off to sleep.

Unaware of the rain deer grazing a few metres away.

Mele

I know something's different as soon as I wake up in the morning. One thing is that my feet feel really funny and the other is the pounding on my door.

"Shut up" I mumble pulling my covers over my head.

"Mele, don't be afraid it's me Cale! I need you to slowly come to the door and open it for me ok? I promise no harm will come to you by doing this"

I frown and take the covers off my head. Does he realise that by saying that there's no way I'm going to answer the door.

"Go away Cale I'm sleepy" I say putting on a baby voice but moving closer to the door, cause I know something's nott right.

"Come on Mele! Just tell me where she is!" A voice enters my head.

I shake it off but then another voice comes in.

Selei in samoa has found a nice tree to sleep in and is waiting to be found so she can begin her task.

The banging on the door builds up, but I don't notice it.

Running out I push the guy out of the way and sprint out of the building.

I dont know where I'm going but I know one thing.

She's not going to be alone

Much longer, and I won't let those voices get her.
