rocky waters and dusty books

Do you remember when we used to love each other?

It was magical really

But also

Ferocious and violent

*

Our love was an ocean

(Which one? The Pacific maybe? No, definitely the Arctic)

It was lovely and serene

It absorbed the reds to reflect the most endearing of blues

I see you were able to recall that in the letter you wrote me

However many seasons ago that was

But what you didn't seem to remember were the times when our waters weren't so azure

The times when they were filled with TAR and

POLLUTION

When in our rage we sent tsunami waves to demolish everything in sight

But mostly just each other

*

You never did like to acknowledge the pain

Yet still, I hold this letter

-God this letter-

And reminisce on the days when you were my

Existence

And not just a letter to be found

Hidden amongst a collection of pages

(as a bookmark perhaps?)

In a story long forgotten to read
