I am undeniably needy and scared of you leaving

I feel excitement rushing through my veins in anticipation of what's to come

We have so much world to see and so many things to experience

Babe I know that you will succeed in everything that you do and every goal that you pursue

And I can see your eventual success (you're already succeeding now, so many accomplishments at only 18)

Sweetie all you have to do is dream

But when you get there, don't forget to remember me

Do you find it funny

That I am so scared to say goodbye?

I can't help it, you know I'm anxious

I worry that this is the last time

And now my stormy-sky eyes are streaking rain down my already tear-stained cheeks

Because I have no way of knowing if once I've lost you, I will ever find you again

So darling, promise me that you will still talk to me

Even after this goodbye is all said and done
