In my bedroom, I got out of bed quickly. It wasn't like there was a man who grabbed me out or anything. Oh, Wait there was.
I slipped on my blue jeans and a tank top. In a rush, I grabbed a pink athletic long sleep, half zip shirt. I walked through the apartment searching for my shoes.
"Oh there they are" I said, picking up my sneakers from under the entry way shelf.
As I tied my shoes, Lin sat there, looking at me like I was crazy.
"You know you aren't going out like that, right?" He said, in a serious tone.
I glanced at what I was wearing. I tough to myself 'suitable'. Why was he making a fuss about this.
"What's wrong with this?""It's November in NYC, it's bellow freezing." He glanced to the shelf where the scarves, coats, gloves, and hats were. "I can't believe I have to do this!" He said as he walked over to it.
He threw a black scarf and a red beanie at her, While I sighed I put it on. He picked up my new Parka, a gift from Anthony. He actually went around to me and put it on me, "Since you have no common sense, I'm going to have to do this." He threw gloves at me.
"Is this really Necessary?" I said, with the gloves in my hand. He gave me a scary look, better not fight it. I slid some white gloves, on my hands.
He studied my outfit, looking for any missing winter objects. When he saw my coat wasn't zipped. He zipped it up, "Now that wasn't that bad, was it?" He said joking walking out.
"I feel suffocated." As I closed the door to the apartment complex. Lin pulled the hood of her jacket over my head.
"But, are you warm?" Lin said, laughing.
"Yes." I huffed through my scarf.
Lin took out his phone out of his pocket. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, forcing me to lay my head on his shoulder. He put the phone in front of us and pressed play.
"This child right here on my shoulder tries to walk out of the house without a jacket. It is the middle of November" He said."Hmm...Are you mad at me?" I said, looking up at him.
"I could never be mad at you" Lin said. He turned his recording off.
"Ha, it's funny because it's a lie" I said.
At this point seven teenage girls ran up to Lin, with their phones. One girl was trying to get next to Lin that she pushed me off the sidewalk. Where I almost low key got hit by a car, if Lin hadn't grabbed me from the street. That. That. Was. The. Most. Terrifying. Thing. Ever.
I begin to shake in Lin's arm.
"You can't push my kid out to the street." Lin said, to one of the girls. Yay, I'm the source of Lin yelling at a poor teen. I mean she didn't mean to push me into the street. It was just Lin is famous.
She had long brown hair and blue eyes, in a sense she reminded me of myself. She looked like she felt bad, I feel bad now. I looked in her crystal, blue eyes to see sympathy. She probably didn't mean to.
"I'm sorry, I was just really excited to meet Lin" This girl said.
"Girls. We have to go, we are in a rush to get to the Richard Rodgers and Gracie seems pretty shaken up. " Lin walked a bit while I turned around to watch some of the girls argue with the girl that pushed me.
"It's all your fault April-"
"We could have gotten pictures with Lin if it wasn't for you"
The girl looked mad at herself. April caught me staring.
"Now, let's go" I just tuned out Lin.
"Who is She? I've never heard of her before. Maybe she's his kid nobody knew about, He probably doesn't want everyone knowing about her!" I kept listening
"Did you see the cuts and bruises on her face, why would Lin even be associated with a girl like that"
"Gracie Lucille Daniels, if you do not turn around right now" That got my attention. He used my full name. It didn't just get my attention, it also got the group of girls' attention. The chatter stopped, the girls just stared at Lin and me. I turned around to see a furious Lin Manuel Miranda, I hurried up to where Lin was standing.
"They were talking about me." I quietly said, as we were about to reach the theater.
"I was trying to get you away from the hate. You are a precious cinnamon roll too good for this world." Lin laughed, putting his arm around my shoulder. He rubbed my shoulder,"Too good for this world".
We made our way to Lin's dressing room, I recounted the situation over and over again.
"I know you are having a rough day, Gracie." He leaned again the door of his dressing room as I study some of my bruises on my face. "So that's why I brought you these guys"
I looked up to see Oak and Daveed.
"A little make out session. " Oak said, joking around with me. I looked embarrassed.
"Shut it, Oak" Daveed slapped his arm.
"Only with Thayne or Jon" I said, exiting his dressing room.
They all stood there expressionless at me, "I'm only joking...." I said. She thought to herself 'about Jon'.
"Let's go out Gracie. Cheesecake?" Daveed asked.
"Did the Daveed Diggs just ask me out?" I laugh at him.
Daveed blushed crimson red. Did I just make him blush, that's hilarious!
"Who would turn down cheesecake" I laughed. Off to the Cheesecake restaurant with Oak, and Daveed.
