Gracie's POV

He said he loved me. Butterflies filled my stomach so fast and nerves rushed through my veins. He held my hand after we hug, I motioned my hand towards the couch where we moved our conversation there.

"How have you been, Nicholas" I ask him about himself, using his full name. I know he hates it when I call his full first name, but I did it to make him mad at me. His name was so adorable and professional all at the same time.

"Gracie, do not call me that." He pulled me closer to him, and held me close. I laughed at his request, and I kissed him passionately. Slowly and then all at once, he let my face go after a beautiful kiss.

"How have you been?" I asked him.

"I've been good, I mean I have missed you, Gracie" He grabbed onto my hand, again, and I faltered.

I look down at my hands and smile. What was once a smile turned into a blush, even though I was looking at the ground.

"Did you miss me too?" He asked, and I looked up at him. Nick, he was just sitting there staring at me, had a bright smile.

I totally forget that's something you tell someone back when they have said 'they miss you'. I'm an idiot, "Of course" I held his face close to mine.

We talk for a while, I laid in his lap while he twirled my hair. He talked about how he got accepted into Columbia for college. I was ecstatic for him, I mean an Ivy League.

"My boyfriend, the Ivy Leaguer" I whispered in his ear, with a chuckle.

Wait go back that sounds like a musical theatre song, I could write it. I started thinking 'My boyfriend, the ivy leaguer'. He will never know how-' Ah who am I kidding. I'll let Lin write it.

Speaking of it, Where is Lin? Oh, Oh no, He's standing at the foot of the couch.

"Oh, I-Uh sir, I just want to I uh see Gracie-"

"Go to your show, Nicholas" Lin said as Nick helped me up and crept out the door.

"Lin-Dad!" I said, "Why did you kick out my boyfriend out." I continued in a whining voice.

How immature could Lin be? It wasn't even a big deal having him here for like an hour before the matinee.

"I'm only protecting my little girl, it's my job." He put a hand on my shoulder, and I turned away from him.

"To protect me?" I questioned him, as I ran my hands through my hair, still turned away from him.

"No and yes" Lin said blankly, and attempted to turn me around, literally and physically.

"No and yes?" I questioned his actions.

"Yes, to protect you and yes to scare away the boys" Lin said.

Are you serious? Boys aren't going to kill me, what's the big deal? Lin, just leave me alone.

"I think you scared that one away." Carleigh entered the girl's dressing room and sat at her usual vanity.

"See you after the show." I told Lin and pushed him and shut the door, with his mouth still open.

                                            •••

After the matinee show, I waited for Jon so we could walk to Broadway Dance Center. It was a new class, Int Musical Theatre. I mean I dance a lot at Broadway Dance Center but, I'm constantly with guarded by Jon, Karla, Stephanie or even Andy. During break or before classes start, They always talk to me on how to better my dancing or make me stretch even further.

"Alright! My name is Jon Rua, and I'm your dance teacher for Intermediate Musical Theatre. " Jon projected throughout the large dance studio, and the students clapped. We had a large turnout for the class. There was a large diversity in age, from age 13 to 19.

"So how this class is going to work is that stretch, technique, and then every month we will learn a full three minute musical theatre routine over the course of a month. I guess we will get started."

We did floor stretches, bare, and finally flexibility stretches. As much as I think I'm an amazing dancer, I already know this class is going to be challenging.

"Alright, lets work on Pirouettes. If I could have my lovely assistant Gracie up here." Jon said, and everybody clapped for me.

"And a five, six, seven, eight." I prepped, started, turned until I could feel myself falling.

"And Finish." Jon said, "She said. "That was like twelve, good job Gracie."

Everybody clapped for me, "Now legs do it together. Get it Legs because we are doing Pirouettes." I joked before finding my spot back on the floor.

We finished technique, and then Jon announced to take 'ten'.

"I'm Alex. " A girl about my age came up and talked to me, "You are really amazing dancer."

"Oh, thanks." I told her, still breathing very hard, "I'm-"

"Gracie Daniels. We theatre dancers know a Broadway star when we see them." I laughed at her, they knew who I was.

"Oh, that's funny. Have you seen the show?" Sometimes when I ask this question I never know what am going to hear.

"No, you may not know this, buts it's a bit hard getting tickets." I nod.

"I am aware of that. I mean I could try finding tickets somehow if you would like to see it?"

"Gracie!" I heard Jon's beckoning call.

"I would love too. " Alex's eyes got real big, and I started to smile.

"That sounds amazing, I'll give you my number at the end of class."

"Gracie!" I heard him calling my name again.

I smiled and backed up to where Jon was, "I need you to not promise things you can't deliver."

I frown, "I just want one friend, okay? I don't have any of those. " He looked up to see my sad face.

"Am I just chipped liver to you?" Jon asked, trying to make me laugh.
