Chapter 18

Gracie's POV

Jasmine and Anthony left on a trip to Florida, but not before they told me how much they loved me.

"I love you little G" Anthony said, as he hugged me very tightly.

"Gracie, We will call everyday. " Jazzy said, She started crying which made me cry. Now that I was thinking Jasmine never cried, well in front of me. "I'm going to miss you, I love you little G"

As they drove away, I just watched them drive away. I was going to miss them so much, I haven't been without them since they adopted me.

Lin stood on the wall outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre. He waited for me to turn around to even notice that I had been bawling my eyes out.

I ran to him

"Hey, Hey, Hey. It's oh-okay. Gracie, they will be home soon" I just cried into his chest, I finally let up.

"I-I know, it's just hard to see them go." I wiped my eyes. I felt weak, I feel like Lin thinks I'm weak. "I'm sorry, Lin"

"Why are you sorry?"

"That I was crying."

"Don't apologize. Look, I'm your dad for the week. My first rule as Gracie's dad is...." He swung me into his arms, and carried me in the Theater. "...To have fun..."

"Lin...Put me down...What are you doing?" He said, as he tried to walk up stairs with me in his arms.

"You don't do this at home...With Sargent Anthony and Jasmine"

He refused to let me down

"Uh-No"

"Then what do you do at Home"

He finally put me down.

I got smart, I had an idea.

"Well, Anthony lets me go hang out with Nick, whenever I want"

Lin's eyes got huge

"Daveed" Lin yelled.

He showed up with yogurt in his hand.

"What'd I miss?"

"Take her for the week!"

"Why? I mean I will."

"She just wants to go hang out with her boyfriend."

"I'm not complaining, Most 15 year olds want to go home with Daveed Diggs"  I winked at Daveed

Lin's eyes got big again and his mouth dropped. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into his chest and wrapped his arms around my head.

"No, I have to get her out of here. She's thinking provocative thoughts"

I laughed, We did the show. Lin went to stagedoor. Wonderful, you know what that means.

I walked with him as he signed every playbill and took every single picture.

"Gracie, Why aren't you in Florida with your family, with Janthony?"

"Don't ask her that! Jazzy and Anthony want some time alone."

Is that what it was? I mean they did ask if I wanted to go. No, Gracie, Don't let them get into your head.

"It's not that! "

"Gracie!" Lin scolded, as he signed autographs.

"I wanted them to have a romantic vacation"

"You could have had a family vacation. Don't you think they wanted you there"

"It's just that-"

Lin walked up to me as he put his hand over my mouth.

"Sorry, She talks a lot, like constantly" Lin laughed, looking at the fan who integrated me. I licked his hand to get him off me.

"Gracie!" He yelled back at me for the licking.

"I'm sorry, Lin!" He sighed.

He put his arm around me, all I did I was perked up my head.

"Goodnight, Guys." He waved off the fans and we hopped a cab.

The silence was killing me, I know I was about to get scolded.

"Just say it"

"What we're you thinking? 'Arguing with fans'. Like why?"

Lin was pretty mad.

"Lin, did you hear what they were asking me?"

"Gracie, it doesn't matter."

"They were asking why I wasn't  with Anthony and Jasmine in Flordia. " I was getting worked up over reliving the moment, "They were telling me that if Anthony and Jasmine loved me, they would have taken me with them"

I was on the verge of mad-tears. It was none of the fans' business. I love meeting fans but they can been mean to me. It got to me.

"I know, It gets to you. They shouldn't of done it, but I don't know. Just try not to argue with the fans" He was half laughing-half serious.

"I'll try not too, but if they fight me. You have to back me up, okay?"

"Okay, Kiddo!"

He fist bumped me. We added the explosion at the end.
