Gracie's POV

"Is she my sister?" I questioned my adoptive parents.

I mean surely I couldn't mean the same to Jazzy and Anthony, as Finley did to them.

"Of course she is." Jasmine said, "Just like you are our kid."

I didn't want to compete with her. I didn't want to compete with Finley.

I looked at the clock on the wall. It was around 4:30 in the morning.
It wasn't until I realised how tired I was.

"Do you want to hold her?" Jazzy swaddled her, looking her as if she had performed a miracle.

I mean she had. She. Gave. Birth. That. Was. A. Miracle.

"Uh-I, it's just I just have never held a baby."

"Really?" Anthony stood up, like holding a baby was a right of passage.

"Like you have?" I turned my body towards him, and laughed, "When did you hold a baby?"

"Well for your information, Gracie. Women through their babies at me."

Jazzy and I both laugh at his silly laugh.

"Seriously?"

"Yes. People come to the stage door and they are all like 'hold my baby' and I'm just like 'okay'. "

I looked at Jazzy, "I don't believe that actually happens."

"Me either, and I'm usually the one stagedooring with him."

I walked over to Jasmine's bed side, and raised my arms out.

"Just like this," She adjusted her daughter in my arm. I supported Finley's head with one hand, and the rest of her body with my right hand.

I brought Finley close to my chest, and it was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

Her little hands started to craw for mine, so I readjust for her. I let her hands craw for mine, and her eyes flutter open for the first time.

Little did I know that I was being filmed by Anthony. I gapped my mouth opened at the affections of hers.

•••

"Honey. I'm home." I fluttered my eyes open, but the bright hospital lights begged my eyelids to shut.

That was 1010 % Lin Manuel Miranda. He always had to make a grand entrance, didn't he?

"Daddy's calling!" Lin whispered in Daveed's voice into my ear. That made me jolt with a start, because isn't that how every girl wants to be waken up to.

I look up to see Lin in jeans and his all to famous grey sweatshirt with balloons in his hands.

I saw Jazzy with a hesitant look on her face, and a tense look on Anthony. Who could know why.

"These are for you, obviously." Lin handed her the balloons.

Lin looked genuine, Jasmine looked shocked, Anthony looked as if He might actually punch Lin in the throat. Me? I'm the one who wanted to get out of the most uncomfortable situation ever.

"That kid in my sweet daughter's arms is going to be a star. She doesn't know it yet, but she will be."

"Uh, Thanks Lin." Jasmine took the balloons and let them float to the top of the ceiling.

"Plus with her parents, she will most defiant have a voice of a star." Lin started his apology, if he was to apologise this would be it,"Maybe by the time I finish my next musical, she will be old enough to audition for it."

Lin is writing another musical? How. Freaking. Fantastic.

"You are writing another musical?" I question Lin.

A smile grew on his face, "Oh, don't get that excited. It took me seven years to write Hamilton."

I laughed at him, which eventually made Finley Lux cry.

"You're doing it wrong. May I?" Lin's eyes scrolled from mine to Jasmine and Anthony's.

I though Anthony was about to blow his head off from being tense, but he didn't.

"Yea, sure" Jasmine looked up to Anthony with scolding eyes,"You are the baby pro."

Lin calmed Finley, while patting her on the back and saying."Hey, hey, hey," She eventually calmed down.

"Here, you go." Lin handed Finley back to Jasmine. "Did you stay at Dan's?"

"You let her stay at her boyfriend's apartment? Are you crazy, Lin?" Anthony said, with his eyes glared at me and him.

"Look, Anthony. She is 16, and she is going to do what she wants."

Seriously, Lin?

"I actually stayed at Daveed. and Oak. "

"Oh." Anthony eyes softened and Lin looked at me curiously.

Anthony with no doubt in my mind trust Daveed. I mean girls my age love him and Oak. Anything could have happened.

"Now, why did you do that?" Lin questioned me.

"Dan was being a good boyfriend." I raised my eyebrows back at Anthony, "and he didn't want me to come over...for the night."

"See, that right there is a good boyfriend. Let's keep him." Anthony relaxed his shoulders.

I laughed, "Since you two, "I pointed to Anthony and Lin,"Are in some kind of pissing match. I though man I don't want to go home and have that fight. I decided to stay over at Daveed and Oak's." I finished my sentence.

"We aren't in a pissing match, we just uh agree and disagree on different things." Anthony said.

"Like how much time a day you should spend with your boyfriend." Lin said

"And how many shows you should be able to preform with because of your Epilepsy and age." Anthony commented.

"Oh! and That you should go to a real school." Lin commented again.

"You want me to go to a real school, Lin?"

I love my teacher that tutors me, and I, Gracie Daniels, am not going to a real school.

"Not me, I like that you get homeschooled."

"TheatreSchooled." I corrected him.

"You just need more friends, and to socialise."

I started my claim, but was interrupted.

"Outside of theatre. and Dance."

"I resent that. All in favor of me staying TheatreSchooled, say I!" I prominently raised my hand. Then Lin did. Finally Jasmine raised her hand.

"It's unanimous."

Anthony looked helplessly back at Jasmine,"Even you?"

"She's in like 5 shows a week, I think you had on 7 hours of schooling plus homework. That's not enough hours in the day."

"Not that I don't love arguing but I haven't slept in over like 12 hours."

"Yeah, kiddo, you and Lin can go home. We will text you in the morning. Or afternoon."

Was that a truce?
