Gracie's POV
Thayne was right about more eating, and less socializing. I sat between Lin and Dan, Lin had requested me to sit by him.
I ordered a lasagna meal, my absolute favorite. While Lin had his arm around me, not in a Ivanka Trump & Donald Trump way, in a cool dad way.
"So I'm sitting on the subway and I see this quirky little teenager say something about Hamilton. So I automatically stick my head up and there's this beautiful angelic voice belting out my song" Lin starts to tell the story that started my whole life and career.
Everybody just laughed, and I blushed crimson red. For being a Broadway performer, I still was not a huge fan of being the center of attention.
"Then after this tiny teenager sings this beautiful song, she just up and leaves" Lin continues with his story of how he stole me from the subway.
"Of course, Lin will 'forget' to mention that he tackled me first, before I agreed to go with him" I butted into his story, as it was my birthday and they deserved the true story.
"I did not!" He exclaimed, as if he did not slam me into a slippery disgusting floor.
I shrugged my shoulders, winning a war with Lin was never something you could accomplish.
The cast was telling stories about fans stagedooring and I kinda got bored. I pull out my phone, and starting searching through instagram.
"@Abi_Fanzel : Happy Birthday Gracie, I-uh hope you love this edit I made for you. Oh and tell Lin I said Hello! XoXo Abi"
Aw that was really sweet, maybe I should reply to her.
Let's type, "Thank you Abi, I love this Edit. G"
That was quick and easy, I click on my profile and I had over a hundred tagged pictures. I wanted to take the time to like or comment on these pictures.
If they took the time out of their day to post something about me, the least thing I could do is like their picture.
I want them no to hate me.
"Gracie!" Jasmine explained , sitting across the table, kicked me lightly on my knee.
"What?"
"Get off your phone" Jasmine gave me a stern look. She is such a mom.
I crossed my arms, and I probably looked like a four year old pouting.
Lin invited all of my guests back to the Richard Rodger's Theatre. All of my Broadway friends squealed in excitement as we walked our way down to the theater.
"Sit on the front of the stage," Lin instructed me as we entered through the stagedoor. We ended up opening presents, I mean I didn't expect or deserve to get anything.
Anthony came in on his phone, "Hello, Hamilton periscope, we are celebrating our youngest Hamilton cast member's birthday! "
He switched the camera to me, "Innocent Gracie would you like to say anything on the Hamilton periscope?" Innocent? I did my biggest puppy dog look at the camera.
"Sure" I reach for Anthony's phone but not before he flipped it back to himself.
"It's my kid's sixteenth birthday, they grow up so fast," I rolled my eyes at Anthony before I stole his phone.
"Hello Periscope! I don't know what to say, It's my birthday?" I asked, I never knew how to preform the art of periscoping, "I'm just sitting here now-"
"Grace Lucille Miranda", I looked at a stern lookon Lin's face as he hurried down the isle, but as he got right up to me, "You can't periscope without me,"
"Miranda?"
"Yes, She is a Miranda when she is with me," Lin said into Anthony's phone, who is my legal guardian, and his last name is also attached to my first name. Lin put his arm around my body, trying to be the center of my periscope, and telling the whole world about how his "daughter" is maturing into a beautiful woman.
More Periscope comments appeared:
'That was kinda weird'
'I thought Anthony and Jasmine adopted Gracie?'
I tried to put on a facade and try to let that comment fly, but I knew it was not flying south. i felt uneasy and I knew Anthony would have something to say about this.
Anthony came in I'm guessing after hearing what Lin said, and not far after was Jasmine, "But she is a Ramos all of the time", He put his arm around my waist and pulled me towards him and Jazzy.
Oh no! This can not be good, Anthony and Jazzy sat on one side of me bickering to a possessive Lin.
I looked back at the periscope comments and the fans were explosively divided in #teamlin and #teamjanthony.
'Lin is being so annoying, this is not fair to Gracie #teamjanthony'
'He took her in first, therefore she is Lin's kid #teamlin'
'Leave Gracie alone #teamgracie'
"I think she was Miranda when you deserted her" Lin stood up and he tried to size up Anthony, literally old man Miranda vs lean & mean Anthony.
This could only go one way, not in my way.
"Our plane crashed, we were stranded on an island for months on end. We almost died, Lin" He put his finger on Lin's chest.
Oh shit
I should probably turn periscope off
"You shouldn't have left your emotional incompetent daughter ever think of that, Anthony? Your plane would not have crashed and you could have been in the hospital when she was crying for you," Lin started on a rant that I knew couldn't go well.
"I'm not emotional incompetent, am I?' I questioned myself, in front of Lin and Anthony. Anthony had this poor little puppy dog face and Lin looked like he regretted what he had said.
"I should have been the one to take custody of her" The spatting between Lin and Anthony continued and they angered each other.
Dan came from the backstage and saw these two normally loving men yelling at each other. He rushed into the room where it happened to start a ceasefire between the Lin Manuel Miranda and Anthony Ramos, "Whoa-Whoa, Let's stop this and open presents and eat cake. It's her birthday!" He put his arm around me, hugged me, and told me everything was going to be okay.
an // For 2017, I am writing better, longer chapters. Since I am going back to school soon, I am going to have an update schedule.
