Chapter Thirty Eight

January 24th

"He shouted at you!?" Frankie raised her eyebrows at me, I'd told her about my argument with Zayn whilst she did my hair for a photo shoot.

"Yeah but I shouted at him too" I brushed her comment off.

"That doesn't make it alright, the last thing you two need is to argue! Have you talked since?"

"No, I gave Jack my phone for the rest of that day so he couldn't" I felt small compared to the people around me, like I'd completely screwed everything up. The funny thing is, I had screwed everything up.

"Summer!" She frowned at me in the mirror, "And did he phone you?"

"6 times, texted me three. Louis called twice, Harry texted once, Liam called and texted me 3 times and nothing from Niall." I admitted.

"Jesus, you need to call him"

"I don't need to do anything Frank" I frowned back at her.

"You're so stubborn! Do you want to stay in a fight?"

"No" I sighed, sinking down in the seat as she'd finished my hair. "I'll call him later, I'm working now"

"You better, or you'll regret it" Frankie gave me one of her looks before she went and fetched Jack.

"I can't call him now, it'll be the wrong time over there" I objected.

"Summer, if you don't call him I will" Frankie looked at her watch, I watched her as she worked out the time it would be in America. "Nah I think you'll be good."

"I hate you" I stuck my tongue out as she handed me my phone, which was already ringing.

"Finally" Zayn breathed down the phone.

"Did I wake you?" I bit my lip nervously.

"I would've got up soon anyway"

"Oh" Talk about awkward.

"Summer I'm sorry, so so sorry. I shouldn't have shouted at you and moaned at you and just everything" He apologised, he made it hard to be mad at him.

"It's fine. Well it's not really but I forgive you" I laughed quietly, "And I'm sorry for not telling you I was meeting up with Jason, I should've told you".

Maybe I shouldn't have forgave him so quickly but I didn't want to stay in an argument with him, especially as we weren't seeing each other any time soon.

"It's fine babe. How are you? How's everything going?" He sounded concerned.

"I'm great, I'm not being sick any more which is good. I've booked a scan on February 4th"

"I'm sorry I can't be there, I wish I could be. Is Frankie going with you?"

"No, my parents are coming down that weekend so they'll be coming" I smiled at the fact I was going to see my parents again, I hadn't seen them since my birthday.

"That's good. Listen I need to get going, I'll call you tomorrow. I love you" My heart skipped a beat, something that always happened when he told me he loved me, I guess it's just reassuring.

"I love you too" I whispered before the line cut off. My smile didn't disappear for the rest of the day.

January 26th

4 months. 4 months was how long I'd been carrying two babies. My two babies. Was I really ready to become a mother?

I mean yes, I'd thought about having children before, but I didn't think it would be this soon. My life isn't exactly normal but it would've been nice to settle down and get married first before even discussing having a children with my partner. But what if Zayn and I never get married?

Interviewer: Hello Summer, it's nice to meet you!

Summer: Hello! It's nice to meet you too, how are you?

Interviewer: I'm not bad thank you and yourself?

Summer: I'm good yeah.

Interviewer: Before we start I'd like to congratulate you!

Summer: Thank you!

Interviewer: How has pregnancy been treating you?

Summer: Surprisingly fine, I've had my good days and bad days but other than that...

Interviewer: Good! Now I understand some people like to keep the things private but do you know what you're having?

Summer: No I don't, I'm around about the time when I can have the scan to find out but Zayn and I have decided we're going to wait until the birth.

Interviewer: Now, speaking of you and Zayn, there have been a few stories flying around about another man, would you like to set the record straight?

Summer: Yes there have been a fair few rumours but that's all they are, rumours. I did meet up with a guy but he's a good friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while so we met up to have a chat.

Interviewer: There we go everyone, Zayn and Summer are doing well! Moving on, you obviously had to stop performing at your tour with the One Direction boys due to your pregnancy, how was this decided?

Summer: I actually wanted to carry on and go to America but I also wanted to keep the babies safe regardless of whether it was safe to go out there, I know Beyoncé carried on working till quite late and then went straight back into work afterwards but I want to be cautious as does Zayn. It was quite a hard decision to make because I don't like letting my fans down but I will be making up for it.

Interviewer: How will you be making up for it? Is another tour being planned?

Summer: I'm not entirely sure yet, it's still being discussed but if not I'll be doing a few gigs. Unfortunately I'll miss performing at the festivals this year, which is such a bummer because I love the vibes at festivals but it's not up to me.
