The Next Judge Mental Asshole Generation.

Authors note: I know I said I was done with poetry but this year we had to write more for English class. This is my slam for English class slam poetry contest. As I read 'Are you saying' I slammed a marker down, and then a binder in the middle of the class room as I shouted the lines, using frustration and anger about this subject as emotions. Needless to say the class was shocked. I hope you like it.

Titled: the next judge mental asshole generation. 

Isn't it a sad day when a girl is pulled out of class
Or school in general,
To cover up her shoulders,
Or tee shirt?
Just because it will distract the guys,
Or isn't school appropriate?
Are you saying that boys education is more important then girls?
Are you saying that we don't have the freedom of expression?
So what?
It's a shoulder!
It's just a shoulder,
Not like she's not wearing a shirt!

Uniforms
Because as much as they love teaching that we are all equal,
All special and all different.
Apparently they don't like seeing that we are different.
That we have different styles
from retro to modern
From pop punk to preppy.
From goth to brightly attire. 
As much as they love saying 'Everyone has freedom of expression?'
Most aren't allowed to show it.
Skirts too high,
Get rid of hat,
Get rid of jacket even though it's below ten degrees!
No boots in school!
Meaning no Uggs ladies and guys!
You also can't even wear a color of shoes you like,
It either has to be black,
Or white,
Or both.
No, no, no
No In between.
Because apparently who ever came up with the school uniforms
has not heard of any other color shoes,
Even Grey shoes.
No Mohawks,
Guys and girls because apparently others
Get really distracted by that hair style.
No piercings because even though it's your body,
they don't want you to know that!
No tattoos visible because they run a fiiiine establishment,
even though there
is so many bullying and drama Rama going around.

No talking bad about the school,
Even if it's true,
Because that would be ruining the rep,
So lie when It comes to school and say the school is just fine.

Say that school is just fine
That your fine
Because if you say other wise your judged.
Your criticized
Your scrutinized.

Centuries ago
Lords and lady's judged the peasants
And the peasants judged the lords and lady's.
Pilgrims judged the Indians.
The Indians judged the pilgrims.
Elites judged the non elites
Non elites judged the elites
The students of this school judge each other.
The teachers judge the students
And the students judge the teachers
We are all judge mental assholes
Going through hell in different ways
That we need to talk smack about each other to feel good
To feel less insecure,
To feel alive.

Alive...
What is Alive?
Are you alive or just breathing?
Are you holding onto life
with all your might?
Are you struggling to be alive
To live life to the fullest?

They say school is easy
That high school doesn't matter
That it's a pit stop on the road to your future
That it's an easy break before your life starts
But that's not true.
High school is tough
You can experience your first love,
Sometimes your first kiss,
Or sadly Your first heartbreak
Your first breakup
Your first everything
Or your last everything
Sometimes people don't graduate
Sometimes they stop breathing
You can tell exactly what time a clock broke,
But you will never know what time or what day a person breaks
Or starts wearing a mask.
You'll never know.

You'll never know
But you'll judge anyways
You'll judge each other's looks,
Each other's grades,
The future others want
And the attitude and personality of everyone else. 
But you don't know what it's like
You have not walked a mile in there shoes
weighed down by past and future.
You judge
But who gave you the right to judge
To judge each other.
To judge yourself.

Catholics say there Catholic
But they judge and judge isn't that only for God?
Shouldn't only God be the one to judge?
Where is your kindness. Where is your faith and belief??

Welcome to the world we live in
Where history repeats
Where people think there better then others
Where parents call us ignorant
But are we the ones who are ignorant?
Is ignorant knowing that the school system is screwed
Knowing there are kids out there
Who are suffering
Because they are criticized.
Because they are scrutinized.
Because they are different

So they hope
They pray
That something happens
so they don't have to go to school
they rather be anywhere but here
At school.

And the judge mental asshole generation before that
Controlling the new generation
To make them conform
To make them blend in
So that they to will learn to judge other people
So That they too will be in uniform
To repeat history
So that history Repeats
And repeats. 
So that we are all conformed
All uniformed
Into the next judge mental asshole generation.
