Father.

December 26th

Titled: Father.

Father.
A word to use for your biological father who is distant.
A word for my father.
He is not Dad, like people call there Father when they are close relationship.

It didn't come as a surprise when I got my Christmas card from my Father.
I get a card for my birthday, Christmas and more.
Always with cash.

I look at the envelope and see nothing has changed.
He spelt my name wrong, again.
I didn't mind the first time.
Or the second.
A little agitated on the third.
And by the 145th time he spelt my name wrong I could care less.

Not talking In four years, not even a word to each other.
Not since... That day.
The day where my world came crashing down.
The day my Mom died.
My sister and brother talk to him.
Hey have hope that he will change.
I know he never will.
And I have no hope left for him.

I can tell my sister just talks to him to be nice and get money out of him,
My brother talks to him, and I doubt he can remember the past.
He was barely four when our parents stumbled out of our life.
Slamming the door right in our face.

And like always I delete the texts,
Not bothering to read the lies,
Stating that he misses me and loves me.
How could you miss a daughter who's name you couldn't spell.
How could you miss a daughter who hasn't uttered even a word to you in four years.
But then again what do you expect for a guy who dropped out of high school,
Lied to you about a half sister and god knows what else.
So I shake my head as my brother asks if I want to talk to Father.
Because I don't, I never will, because I realized
It's hopeless and he will never change from the
Reckless, nonsensitive, incompetent, ignorant and arrogant person he will always be.

He will always be the father who tries to be cool,
But never comes around and actually hangs with his kids.
I don't know where he is but I'm glad he isn't here.
Because he's just the guy who helped create me, and my siblings while destroying my moms life.
