Just a warning: things may get slightly darker in this chapter
Enjoy :D

I sit on the edge of the bed awkwardly, unsure of what do with myself. Clara continues to murmur things that I can’t make sense off. I’m trying not to think too much about what’s going on for fear of losing my sanity.
“My dear,” Clara says, bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Yes?”
“Do you know what you are here for?” She asks softly.
“I have no idea,” I answer with complete honesty. I may have come here with some idea of what to expect but clearly this was not it. I don’t even know what ‘this’ entails.
“How did you get down here then?”
“I read your journal – sorry.”
“Ah, that old thing? He still has it?” She asks her eyes welling up with tears.
“Yeah.”
“Did Drake not stop you from looking through everything?”
“He’s not even there, I’ve been locked in his wing for two days.”
“Oh,” she looks down, “then it must be time, you’re the one and they’re preparing.”
“Preparing?”
“There’s no easy way to tell you this but you should know the story from the beginning. You have that right.”
And now she’s scaring me, what are they preparing for? I feel so lost right now, like everybody else knows what’s going on but I don’t, which is exactly what’s happening.
“It all started when I wanted a divorce, we had been having problems for a while now but I finally thought, enough was enough. I didn’t need this. Of course, I thought of the kids but they were young, they had time to adapt, to move on. I did not anticipate how badly Ralph would take it.”
“I didn’t realise when I should have in hindsight, that he was not taking things so well, he became distant – started saying things that made no sense. I paid no heed to the matter and ignored them, happy that I could move on. I anticipated a stressful and messy divorce of course my current predicament is much worse. “
“He suggested a romantic break away, here, as a last ditch attempt to save our marriage. One last family holiday before the divorce was finalised, the papers signed. After much persuasion I agreed, it was a dull day. The clouds were overcast looking as if there was going to be a downpour at any minute, I was not yet superstitious enough to see this as an omen.”
“I was weary from the journey, so I took a nap in my normal room. I was awoken for dinner, as per my request and did not notice anything wrong with the way in which things had happened up until that point. Dinner was a normal affair, as well as after dinner where we would gather to talk of the days events or watch a movie and such.”
“It was at this time that Ralph presented me with some documents, as I was looking at what they were he had pulled out a hunting knife and was pressing it onto Molly’s neck. I looked up and saw her terrified, eyes as wide as saucers, most shocking was Ralph, he showed no signs of remorse to what he was doing to his daughter.”
“He demanded I signed the papers, he said if I didn’t he’d kill her. I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t let her die. But now I wonder if that was wise, I see what he’s done to her, I hear the stories of what happens and sometimes, I think she would have been better off. At least that way I could save her, she would be safe.”
