Warning: lots of swearing in this chapter
The first thing I was aware of was that my world was shaking.
The world was shaking but I was in complete darkness, at this moment I had no idea what was going on or where I was but right at this moment in time the world was shaking, rather a lot faster now.
Was there an earthquake?
My eyes snapped open of their own accord, a dim light emitting from somewhere my eyes adjusting.
The shaking stops.
“About time you stupid bitch,” the voice settles in my chest as it slowly fills with dread as I remember the circumstances in which I blacked out. This was more then enough to wake me up.
I hear a chair being dragged across the floor and then creaking as someone sat on it. I knew that voice though, why couldn’t I remember it?
“Cat got your tongue?” He snarled, making me look at him for the first time.
It was Kyle, but not the normal Kyle that had become used to over the past month, this Kyle looked like a completely different person. His clothes dishevelled and dirty, his hair resembling a bird’s nest and the stench of alcohol was so strong I’d probably get drunk breathing it.
Without warning he grabs my jaw, clenching it in between his hands with a vice like grip getting ever tighter. His nails digging into my cheeks, cutting into my skin I try not to show too much weakness, by not backing away or flinching.
“When I ask a question, I want an answer.”
“Sorry,” I mutter barely audible enough for him to hear.
“Good,” he lets go of my face and sits back into the chair, “good.” For the amount of alcohol he smells off he doesn’t act like he’s overly drunk. Which was a shame really, because it would make my current situation so much easier to get out of if he just passed out . I’d even take tripping over something and banging his head.
“What were you doing in my room?” He asks, yeah he definitely sounds way too coherent to be drunk.
“I didn’t know it was yours.”
“Bullshit!” He shouts slamming his palms against the arm rests. “You think I don’t know? I know you’re not stupid.”
“Erm… thanks?’ I reply, feeling like anything I say or do could make Kyle explode. He ignores my answer and rambles incoherently, right now I don’t think my concern should be how inebriated is he, it should probably be how sane is he?
“You know, everyone here thinks I’m stupid. Everyone here likes Drake, all the girls, Mum, Dad everyone. Even you.”
“I don’t like Drake anymore.” I find myself saying, rather truthfully.
