~Daniel's POV~

Today's the day I get to ask Joey to the upcoming high school dance. I put on a plaid shirt and some jeans, I fi my hair nicely, and I spray some cologne on me. I pick up my backpack and the flowers I plan to give Joey, and I head out the door. Before stepping outside, I look both ways, making sure Joey isn't anywhere. I wouldn't wanna spoil the surprise. After I check that the coast is clear, I quickly rush to my car. I carefully place the flowers in the passenger seat, and I quickly hop in the driver's seat.

Once I arrive at the school, I check the time. 7:00 A.M. School starts at 8:00 A.M. Joey's bus arrives at 7:30. That gives me 30 minutes to hide these flowers. That should be easy. I hop out of the car, carefully grab the flowers, and I hop out of my car. I lock my car and head into the school. I'm surprised the school is unlocked this early. All the students usually come around 7:30, and the teachers enter through the office. I clear the thoughts out of my head and begin thinking where to hide these flowers until 7:30, when Joey arrives. I find a storage room, and I check the door. Locked. I search around for a key, and I find one balance on the door. I grab it and unlock the door, placing the flowers in a hiding spot, and I walk towards the door. I check to make sure they aren't visible, and I lose the door. I shove the key in my pocket, hoping the janitors won't need to use this closet today.

It's 7:30, and I wait for Joey by his locker, which is right down the hall from mine. I hope he comes to school today. If he doesn't, this plan would be a total flop. I patiently wait for Joey. He's still not here. He's probably stuck on the bus, or maybe meeting his friends first.

I check the time. 7:50. He's still not here. I'm getting worried. Maybe he did stay home. I don't know why he would stay home, nor why, if he was here, he wouldn't go to his locker. I pull out my phone and begin to text him.

D- hey, where are you?

No reply. Maybe he has his phone off. I wait a little longer until I send another text.

D- Joey? Are you okay? Are you mad at me? Or ignoring me?

I have no idea why he would be mad at me, but I'm really worried about him. We literally just started dating a couple weeks ago and something already happened to him. I decide to give him a call.

I sigh, and my mind begins to go to dark places. What if something happened in his house last night? Murder? Family? Car crash on the way to school? I push away the ugly thoughts in my mind and I continue to wait outside his locker.

I check the clock. 7:55. He's still not here. I walk to homeroom. My plan has failed, but now I have to find out what happened to Joey.
