Chapter 26

~Daniels POV~

I place the last notecard in his bedroom, and I take run into the other room to grab the basket of rose pedals. I hear a voice outside, but I just decide it's a neighbor. The voice starts to distract me so I take a quick glance out the window. I recognize the hair and the shirt. What the hell was Joey doing here? Maybe I'm just hallucinating, or my minds playing games. I listen in to the conversation to hear the voice. I'm sure it's Joey now. I didn't even change into my suit or put the rose pedals down. I quickly dial up Conner.

"Hello?"

"Hey? How's Joey?"

"He's good! The plan is going well so far."

I shake my head and sigh off the phone.

"Can you put him on the phone so I can speak to him, just so he knows I'm alright?"

"Um, he's in the bathroom."

"Can you please get him for me?"

"You don't interrupt a someone while they're doing their business, dude."

"This is urgent."

"He has been there quite a long time, I'll go get him, hold on"

I hear him moving around and opening doors, trying to get to the bathroom. I kind of just sit there and laugh about how clueless he is.

I hear him yell Joey's name, and open stalls.

"Um, he's not here?"

I let out a laugh off the phone.

"That's because he's here."

I can see the shock looked on his face just by the silence.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry he said he was going to the bathroom and I guess he ran out!"

"It's ok.. Just please call him or something I need at least 5 more minutes."

"On it."

I hang up and quickly close all the blinds in his house. I run downstairs to lock all the doors. It seems wrong to be locking him out of his own house, but this has a special reason. I sit in front of the front door. I hear him try to open the door. "Shit." I hear him mumble. Suddenly, I hear his phone ring. I hear him sigh and answer the phone. I lean my ear against the door too listen to the conversation.

"Hey Tyler!"

"I'm sorry I just really needed to see Daniel. The plan flopped anyway. I left his gift in my house and I'm locked out."

Aw that's sweet. He got me a gift.

"Really?"

"Ok on my way."

Yes.

I hear a car door close and the car begins to drive away.

I quickly get up, gently place down the rose pedals, and I grab my suit and rush into the bathroom.

~Joey's POV~

I pull into my driveway and everyone has a smile on their face. "Um? Ok what's going on? You guys have been super anxious and I can tell your hiding something." I stare at them. No response. "Well thanks for taking me bowling." I say, and I exit the car and so do they. I walk into the houses to find a note card sitting right by the front door. I pick it up and I begin to read it.

Poor Danny is very sick. Get him some medicine from the cabinet so he gets better :)

I look at my friends confusingly and I head to the medicine cabinet where I find the next note card. Is this some kind of clue game?

You just cured Dan-Dan! Now, go get him a fresh new robe from the bathroom!

I have absolutely no idea what this is, but I run upstairs to the bathroom where I find the next note card.

After searching through and finding 10 notecards, I finally find one that tells me who did all of this.

Now he's very warm, but you know something else that will heal him and comfort him? His boyfriend. Run downstairs and follow the rose pedals for a surprise from your man ;)

I sprint down the stairs to find a trail of rose pedals. I begin to follow it and it stops. I look up to see my handsome Daniel. He's all dressed up in a cute suit and his hair perfectly done. A cute little smile appears on his face. He gets down on one knee. "Joey, will you go to prom with me?"

Tears begin to stream down my face I run up to him and hug him. "Yes!" I manage to say. He smiles the biggest smile I've ever seen and we kiss. "Get a room!" Tyler yells and we all laugh. I get to go to prom with this incredibly handsome man.

"You were anxious to see me weren't you sweety?" Daniels asks me as we swing on the hammock I have outside. "I'm guessing I didn't lock myself out of my house?" "I was sitting behind that door praying you didn't have a key!" He laughs. "This is so sweet Daniel. Thank you." "The best for the best." He says and I blush. "I love you." "I love you too."
