I was drawing a wolf howling under the moonlight so focused that I didn't heard my bedroom door opening and Cole entering. The only thing that mattered was that grey wolf, his strong muscles; the excellent fur the dark blue eye color and the night sky. As I was playing around with the brushes painting and fixing the last details Cole coughed to let me now of his presence.

-I'm so sorry Cole; I was so into that I didn't notice you.

-It's okay, I'm sorry for coming here uninvited, but I had to see if you were doing okay. You painting is beautiful.

I stand up and sit on the floor and point at him to join me.

-Honestly, I'm not that well. He was so overreacting yesterday. I get that he was hurt because Nicholas humiliated him in front of his friends and the very next day kissed me while he was looking, but he didn't even give me the chance to explain anything. Neither apologize, explain the kiss nor why we were together hugging in your car. He was the first one that I met in this town and we came closer to each other and I really liked that. He is such a good guy and he made me feel welcomed again. I didn't want any of these things to happen. I miss his company.

-Come here you poor thing.

He dragged me closer and embraced me on a side hug. I rest my head on his neck and closed my eyes enjoying his care for a little.

-Look, Rhett doesn't like to have others laugh at him or be embarrassed in front of others. He cares about what others think but he knew it wasn't your fault. When he saw you kissing him that's when his patience hit its limits, he thought you teamed up with him in the end. I know you have realized it by know but he really likes you and his ego was deeply hurt. He doesn't even know how to play the guitar, he told you otherwise anyway to impress you.

-That's not an excuse for not listening to me. It's not that we were together or something.

-I know but think what you would do in a same situation.

-What should I do?

-The best thing would be to talk to him but...

-But what?

-He will stay at Link's for a while.

-For how many days?

-Until the beginning of the semester.

-What? Shall I go and find him there?

- I wouldn't recommend it, he needs some alone time, that's why he left. I'm sure he will clear his mind and get it together; he will understand that his behavior is completely unreasonable.

-I hope so.

-Get up, let's go and do something fun.

Thanks to Cole's support in the 3 weeks between school's opening my life almost changed completely. He made sure to introduce me in all of his friends and get out of the house every day. We hanged out together or with his group of friends a lot. We played basketball in the evenings, swimming in the river on the mornings and having pizza and movie nights. He is a really nice guy and a good friend and so are his best friends Martin, John and Daniel. Between those weeks I learnt a lot about him, we have come to a point that we shared everything; I guess we just have chemistry. The bad thing is that we didn't bump into Rhett and Link even once so I had no chance to talk to him. That was very weird, they couldn't just have disappeared, me and Cole have walked all the town and the nearby area many times without seen any of them. Were they inside the house all day?

The day before school's first day Cole and I were in my bedroom chatting. But I was very anxious about tomorrow's morning to focus on what he was saying.
