-Yeah! We did it Jess. We went through a whole year of High School craziness.

-I'm so excited. This will be the best summer ever.

Her now slimmer and tonner legs are covered by shorts, her obviously flatter stomach is hidden by a long white t-shirt. She is a whole different person now. Confident. Like a few pounds were the only things to hold her back.

-Of course. Walk on the beach and the woods. Camping, dance and drinks. We will have a blast I swear.

-What are you two planning again?

Rhett interrupts us. He has walked behind me and hugged me, his arms around my belly.

-We are talking about how awesome this summer is going to be.

I kiss him gently and turn to Jess again.

-Where is Link?

-He is coming.

After only a few seconds Link came over too. They hugged and kissed.

-Let's do something tomorrow.

-Like?

-I don't know...what about camping in the beach?

-Why not? I will ask my parents.

Jess smiles, she loves things like that.

-Now that I have a car too we don't need to be squeezed on one another.

And of course Link had to remind us that he could drive too.

-Don't forget that you are going to pick me up today. We will test your car.

-Please guys be careful. I don't want anything to happen to you, like the last two times you tested a car.

-Don't worry, I'm a careful driver, I will bring him back whole.

-You better bring him back whole. Otherwise I'll chop you into pieces.

-I'm so scared.

I roll my eyes and let go of Rhett's embrace.

-I will drive Jess home, talk to you later babe?

-I will call you late at night.

-Sounds interesting.

I close an eye at him and walk to my motorbike. I jump on and wait for Jess to come. She gets on too. And we head to her house waving to our boys as we roll down the road.

Being finally free from school I decide to go on a ride to get me some alone time. Maybe process the things that have happened to me this year. I can't process that I moved in only a year ago, it feels like ages. The air is slamming on my bear legs and arms but my face is protected by my helmet. The speed is giving me life. I turn on a muddy road, the one with the sudden turn to head outside of the town.

I recognize Link's track, it's taking the turn and I speed down the road to catch them "Aren't they going a bit too fast?" The next thing I know the track is landed on its side, Link lost control because of the speed and the sudden turn and fell. Fear is conquering my heart; the handle is almost slipping out of my hands.

I get closer and throw the motorbike on the ground as I get up. My knees are trembling, I can barely walk, and I am terrified of what I might see.

-Rhett?

No answer, my heart sinks in my chest, tears water my eyes. No...They can't be.

Suddenly I hear laughs, loud laughs. I stand on my tiptoes next to the turn track and look inside from the window. Rhett's shoulder is squeezed against Link's, he fell on him when the track rolled over; of course he had no seat belt on.
