When school was over she couldn't be seen anywhere. I searched on every classroom but I couldn't find her. Rhett had to drag me out of the school in the end. He had me up on his shoulder and he was carrying me around the empty corridors heading outside.

-I was looking for you.

-I was looking for Jess, Rhett I can't find her anywhere, let me down.

-I saw her leaving. She had a fight with Link.

I sniff and let my arms fall freely by my sides. They are waving slowly on the rhythm of his steps and my stomach hurts from the extended pressure of his shoulder. How could she ever be jealous of me?

As we pass by Mr. Anderson's office I see that his is still there working. He saw and gave me a questioning look but I close my eyes in denial. I couldn't care less for that right now. When we reached my motorbike he lets me down and minimizes our distance so our chests are touching. He was his hands on the saddle and I'm between them, he was bend to my height and was looking at me.

-Will you tell me what happened now?

-I had a fight with Jess. I tried to explain Link's me behavior and I end up saying that boys are like that and she has just to accept it as it is and that's not that bad after all. But she told me that she wasn't confident like me so this was not okay with her. She told me I have no idea what being ugly means. Rhett she is jealous, I'm making her feel ugly.

My voice brakes and I cover my eyes with my palms. He pulls me to his chest and rests his chin on the top of my head.

-Hey sweetie, I'm sure she didn't mean any of that. She was just hurt, unreasonably, but hurt.

-Unreasonably?

I pull away from his grab and look at him deep into his eyes.

-Yeah, it wasn't a big deal after all, you supported Link.

-That doesn't changes the fact that he acted like a cunt hungry dick in front of his girlfriend. How would you feel if I did that? Do you want me to remind you that night at your house when you found the guys sleeping on me?

He gulped and looked away.

-Both of them acted wrong. And both of them didn't let me explain it to them.

-You can't help everyone change babe.

-But I want to Rhett.

He pulls me to his chest one more time.

-I'm always dreaming about changing the world.

-You already changed my world.

He kissed my forehead and pulled away.

-Shall we go home now?

I nod and get on the saddle.

Later that evening I was by the fireplace reading the second book of the Lord of the Ring series. I had called Jess many times but with no luck, so I was trying to distract myself. Then I heard a knock on the door and I run to open. It was Rhett. I jump on him and wrap my arms tight around his neck.

-She doesn't answer the phone.

-She will, maybe is still mad. But I think you will get along again. I don't think she is that jealous off your looks, she is not even ugly in the first place. You shouldn't take her words personally.Don't worry baby girl.
