The river

In almost no time I had left the town behind me and I was in the woods. There was no path and trees were very close to each other and I was struggling carrying on. The surroundings were breathtaking though, I didn't have any memory of exploring an area like this before so I was fascinated. It was an amazing shelter if you were seeking privacy and a break from the hot summer weather, the atmosphere fulfilled me with the uncontrollable desire to dance. My limps start moving in their own will on a slow exotic rhythm, a melody moves my lips. I can't see anyone around so I give in the feeling, the mumble becomes singing and the smooth swaying becomes wilder. I feel the light breeze waving my hair and cool me down as I turn and turn in the rhythm of the unrecognizable melody I keep singing. I close my eyes and lose myself in the sound of my voice and the movement of my body. My mind has flown away everything, despite my quick breath I feel calmer and full of life, I lay on the warm grass feeling it tickling my back with a sigh.

I couldn't say how much I had been laying there doing nothing, enjoying the sunny day in the shadow of a tree along the weak sound of water floating before i heard voices. Loud voices, two different. One of them was kind of familiar, but the other one was completely strange, they were male voices but not deep so I assume they are teenagers. I stand up as fast as I can. I hide behind a tree and look at the direction the voices are coming. I walk a bit towards there to see Rhett with a shorter boy in their swimsuits, just about to jump in the river. Rhett's friend is way shorter than him and he has black hair and...baby blue eyes? I can't tell from that distance. I hope they didn't see my dance routine before, I'm not famous for my dancing skills at all, I better walk away before they see me and assume I was spying on them.

Well how I am going to go back, I totally had my head in the clouds and there is no path. They are here so they have to know they way, maybe the path is near their direction. While I was making my way through the bushes and the wild flowers i took a small look at the two boys who were swimming in the river. The water was pretty clear and sparkling under the sunlight and the surface was looking thick and calm like it was made of oil, on the spots they weren't swimming of course. The shorter boy is attractive as well, he has dark brown hair and his eyes are baby blue indeed, he has a strong jaw line small nose and thick lips, also he is not as skinny as Rhett so that makes him look stronger. He is a sweet boy that's for sure.

-Link, do you remember that a Greek family moved in the house across mine, right?

I overhear Rhett saying while I was walking right across them with the tall pine trees covering me. I stop walking and hide behind a bush slightly closer to them, thankfully the stopped moving so I didn't have to follow them to listen more.

-Yes, why did you bring that up? I thought he didn't manage to bump into them.

- Do you remember when I told you about a beautiful girl who passed by the basketball field and I couldn't tell who she was, because I had never seen her?

-Oh yeah, I remember the description very well. You assumed she wasn't from Buies Creek because we would have already seen her.

-Exactly and I was right. It's the daughter of the family and I met her today.

- What? How?

-It turned out that my mom had met her the first day she moved in.

-You lucky jerk, so what is she like from a closer look?

-Phhhh, I can't even describe, you have to see and tell.

-That good huh? Come on give me something don't be selfish.

- You have to see her dude I'm serious. It's far prettier than any other girl in Middle school. Also she will go to the same High school with us, same year.
