Tyler's POV
Sundays are nice, until you realise school is tomorrow, which is Monday. Mrs Vienetta is going to kill me in English tomorrow because I didn't do the research homework, I left my damn workbook in my locker. But I'm not worried about it so much, I can give her one of my charming smiles and she'll lay me off. I'm joking, but maybe I should actually try it?
I lay in bed and think about what I should do. It's seems pretty sunny outside, maybe I should go and play basketball in the park? I think about just shooting at home with the basketball hoop but there's no court, I want to run around a bit. I chuck on a basketball shirt, shorts and shoes and yell out to my mum that I'm leaving. "See you honey! Come back at dinner!" She shouts back while I pass out the door.
I get to the park and see that someone's there already. Great. I don't like it when someone's there too, it just makes it awkward. I proceed to turn around and go home but something catches my eye. Wait, isn't that Abrielle? I walk closer towards the court. That is her. She has her big curly hair tied in a lopsided ponytail, wearing a headband to keep the extra hair strands out of her face, sporting a neat basketball getup.
She notices me and drops the ball in shock. I laugh and run to her. "Hey Abrielle, what are you doing here?"
"Maybe I should ask you that question because I'm clearly practising some basketball shots." She snaps back.
My loud mouth gets the better of me and says "Calm down, is it the time of the month for you?"
I swear her eyes flashed red at that moment. "What did you just f*cking say you bitch?!"
"Oh, um... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to, um..." I stutter. I f*cked up real bad. Why did I say that?! I know that saying makes girls pissed.
Abrielle grabs the ball from the ground and hits me with it. I luckily cover my head so it hit my shoulder. "I said I was sorry!" I yell.
She cools down after that and continues shooting. I grab my ball from my bag and join her. "So, you wanna play together or something?"
"Okay..." She says with a doubtful tone and throws her ball away on the side. "Let's go."
I dribble around her, passing the ball through my legs. She stays close, trying to cut my path. I do a quick turn around and shoot from the side. It goes in and I raise my hands with a smug face. She gives me a death look, having a slightly crooked smile.
Abrielle retrieves the ball and dribbles out to the centre line and runs straight to the goal to shoot. I try to stop her but she passes the ball behind her and trips me up. She does a jump shot and the ball goes right in. "Yes!" She shouts. Damn, she's pretty good.
While we're playing Abrielle starts going off at a rant. "You know what happened today? I specifically asked my dad to buy me a glue stick for school because he went to the supermarket 'cause y'know our bitchy maths teacher gets us to stick everything in our books and my other glue stick broke but he doesn't even buy the f*cking glue stick and I really needed it because I can't keep on borrowing other people's like I'm so annoyed y'know? and another thing..." She goes on and on rambling but I just watch her with a goofy smile on my face. She looks so mad and cute it's so funny.
I should stop her rambling without saying anything. I know what to do! Abrielle's gonna go nuts. I take off my basketball shirt to reveal my sexy six pack and chest that I've been working on. I'm kidding, they're not sexy, although Brian, Alex, Jackson and some girls at school say I have, apparently, a perfect body. I'm not being cocky or anything, but I think my body is pretty good, not perfect though. I still need to achieve my goals.
Abrielle doesn't notice the first instance so I just had to stand there in silence until she looked at me. "Ughh I feel like my life is so unfair-" she freezes when she sees me. "...why did you take your...shirt off?"
"To get your attention!" I say, grinning.
I can see her face getting really red. "Um... can you put it back...on...?" This probably reminded her of the time she saw me at Sarah's party.
"Oh come on, I know you like it." I laugh and step closer to her.
"N-no I don't!"
"Then why are you staring at me? I'm just shirtless."
"Can you just put a shirt on? You're making me uncomfortable."
"You look so embarrassed haha."
"I'm not embarrassed! Now can you just cover yourself?"
"What's wrong with me being topless baby girl?"
She starts smiling but quickly covers her face with her hands. "Don't call me that!"
"You like that too. I should call you that more often, baby girl. It's your nickname after all" I say grinning while biting my lip.
She looks up and does a half smile, too embarrassed to keep a straight face. "Don't do that either!"
"Do what baby girl?"
"Bite your lip like that!"
"Oh... do you think it's hot?"
"Um... yeah-I mean no! Why do you make me so embarrassed?"
"You're the one blushing like crazy."
"Am I blushing? Oh shit, I am. But can you just stop being so..."
"Stop being what?"
"Ugh! You make me so mad!" Abrielle punches my arm.
"Oww! That hurt!" I say. "You're so cute when you're all mad and embarrassed, I just wanna take you home." A mischievous grin stretches across my face as I grab her and throw her over my shoulder like a fireman's carry.
She starts squirming and tries to kick me, at the same time laughing. "Put me down!"
"No, until you say sorry for punching my arm."
"Ahaha just put me down! I don't even know why I'm laughing. But I'm still not saying sorry."
"Okay then, guess I'll have to take you home." I start walking towards the foot path.
"Fine! I'm sorry!" She cries and I take her off of me. She's still laughing a little. I just can't get enough of her. "That was kind of fun actually." She admits.
"Want to do it again?" I ask jokingly.
"No! I actually hated it! Now go away." She smirks.
I finally put on my shirt and grab my stuff. "I'll be heading off now. You going?"
"Yeah, my dad's gonna pick me up in a minute. I have to get home soon for a family event, ugh." She sighs. "You want a lift?"
"It's all good, I'm fine. Thanks for the offer though. See ya soon!" We say goodbye and start to walk away, but I quickly turn around and move really close to her face our noses almost touch. She gets a big shock and blushes. "And you can borrow my glue stick, anytime." And with that, I run away.
I look back for a second to see Abrielle with a cute, embarrassed smile on her face. I love making her mad but happy at the same time. She probably thinks I'm a real jerk but I know she's still insane about me. And I think I am too. I swear she's the most beautiful girl ever- I mean... um, never mind.
