Tyler's POV

Abrielle?!

It's been 4 years since I've last seen her...

What... why is she here?!

I thought I would never see her again.

I stare at her blankly. She still looks the same, curly dark hair, big brown eyes, soft pouted lips. I can tell she's become slightly older, but she's still unbelievably beautiful.

Her expression looks surprised to say the least. We both seem lost for words.

But then suddenly all the memories start flooding in my brain.

My eyes widen as my mind fully sinks into reality. The girl who was my worst enemy, and who I had a crazy, huge, stupid crush on is standing right in front of me, after not seeing her for so long.

Of course it passed my mind that if I moved to Sydney I would see Abrielle. But I moved here for a sports degree and to get a chance to play basketball professionally. I was really focused on that. I didn't think about her much, surprisingly.

But she was the only thing on my mind when she left. I was so stressed, the messages I sent to her in hope of getting in touch again was no use. She never answered back. It broke my heart.

It was hard moving on from her, I don't think I actually did completely. She stuck to my mind like a piece of chewed gum. I would wonder if she thought about me too, if her mind ever spoke of me, just only for a second, a precious moment where her thoughts would wander off, hearing my name in her head.

The thoughts run out from my brain as I get back to the present again. Abrielle and I, standing on a flight of stairs. Wow, it really is her. My hands shake, unable to wipe the sweat from my forehead. I think I might actually faint, I'm so stunned and speechless.

She opens her mouth, with no words coming out. We both stand in silence, I pray that she says something, anything.

"Tyler?" She says, swallowing hard.

"Abrielle..." I look solemnly into her eyes.

She takes a step forward. "How... how have you been?"

"I'm... I'm good, what about you?"

"Yeah I'm good."

The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I try to make light conversation. "So you're moving in here too?"

She smiles a little which makes my heart skip a beat. "Ha ha yeah, I'm moving to the sixth floor, where are you here?"

"Cool, I'm at the sixth floor as well."

"Nice, what number?"

"12, what about you?"

"11, we're right next to each other."

"Oh, cool." We stand in silence, frequently looking at the floor in between breaks of staring at each other.

I notice she's carrying a heavy load. She probably needs some help moving in. "Hey, you need help to move in?"

"Oh, um, no it's fine thanks." She shrugs off the offer.

"I know you need help with moving in, do you think you can move all your stuff in?" I laugh and grab the box from her.

She seems shocked but quickly shakes her head and laughs. I missed that sweet laugh. "Ha ha all right, if you insist."

She gives me her keys to the apartment and walks back downstairs to get another box. I walk up and arrive on the sixth floor, tiredly walking to her door.

I step in and look around. Looks like my place, except everything's just on the other side. I put the box down in the middle of the first room and walk around the apartment aimlessly. This is such a coincidence. How did Abrielle and I meet randomly after so long? Is it fate?

I lean against a wall and sigh. I check the time and It's nearly lunchtime. An idea pops in my head. Should I ask her if she wants to have lunch with me? I swallow hard and start sweating slightly, why do I feel so nervous all of a sudden? I'm just asking her for lunch.

After a few minutes, she comes back with another box. I immediately stand up straight. Shit, I should have got another box to help her. I'm such an asshole.

She puts the box down the same place where I did and wipes the sweat off her forehead. She's still way shorter than me, the box looks big enough for her to live in it.

I dig my hands in my pockets and smile at her shyly. "Hey, um it's lunchtime so, do you wanna eat lunch together?"

She smiles back and my heart skips a beat. "Yeah sure, could we just move all my stuff first though? Sorry-"

"Shit sorry I didn't realise, yeah that's fine, sorry." I interrupt like a blabbering idiot.

"Ha ha that's okay don't be sorry." She giggles. She is so unbelievably cute I might bury myself alive because I'm so embarrassed at how cute she is.

"All right ha ha." I reply awkwardly.

"Will you be alright in helping me move more of my boxes now?"

"Sure, that's fine."

She takes a step closer to me and I nearly take a step back. "Thank you for helping me Tyler, I really appreciate it."

"No...no problem." I say, grinning like i'm on cloud nine.

I watch Abrielle walk out the door and follow behind her. I thought she left my life forever. Now she's back for a sequel.
