Abrielle's POV

What is up with Tyler? He gets mad at me for laughing at Jackson burning his hand? EVERYONE ELSE IN THE CLASS LAUGHED TOO! At least Jackson explained that to him. Glad to know someone has common sense. I just hate him so much!

When I get home I eat some cookies sitting outside on the decking. Why can't Tyler ever leave my mind? I can't seem to forget his soft blond hair and vivid ocean-blue eyes... uh, I didn't mean that. But why can't he leave my freaking mind? Do I like him? No way! All we've ever done is fight. Not such a good way of communicating. My mind is going crazy. I think I need to see a counsellor. But I bet they'll tell me 'Oh, that' because you love him hun!' And then I'll kill myself because I hate it when people use the word 'Hun'. It's sounds so derogatory and... ugh.

As I take a bite of my cookie angrily, Sam walks outside. "Hey Abrielle! You smell! See how that rhymed?"

I roll my eyes. "Good job Sam, like goddamn, go scram."

"That sounded bad. Anyway guess what! I'm invited to a birthday party!" He says.

"Cool. Who's birthday party?" I reply.

He blushes a bit. "Um, a girls party."

"Ooh Sam! Your first crush! And you're going to her birthday party! You have mad booty game." I laugh.

"No I don't! and what's 'mad booty game'?" He questions.

I get up and start walking inside. "Never mind. Here's a cookie." I throw my last cookie at him. He reluctantly catches it. When I get inside I hit my head on the wall, frustrated. My mind is still stuck on Tyler, those cookies didn't help at all.

                                                                            .                     .                    .

It's 8:45am in the morning. I can hardly keep my eyes open. Nikki runs to me, her arms practically waving in the air. "Hey abs!!! OMG! guess what!"

"Why are you so excited Nitpick?" I say, nearly getting knocked over by her.

"We got invited to Sarah Hamilton's pool party for her birthday!" She grins.

Sarah's nice. But she's more on the popular side, that's why I don't really hang around with her any more. "Um okay, But why did she invite us to her birthday party?"

"She wants to beat Stacy Waters's party last year. Apparently nearly the whole year level came there. 12 breakups and 45 hookups. But Sarah wants to go bigger than that. Not only is she inviting everyone she knows in year 9, but she's inviting people from year 10 and upwards! That means hot seniors! And she has a gigantic pool! Hot shirtless seniors!" She squeals. I didn't go to Stacy's party. My strict parents didn't allow me. They said wait until next year. Maybe they'll let me go to this one?

While I try to process that information, Christina and Olivia come up to us. "I see Nitpick is talking about THE party of THE year?" Olivia says.

"Yes! We all must go!" Nikki says in excitement.

"But I need a new swimsuit." Christina sighs.

I need a new one too. My old swimsuit I've had for years now. It has nautical blue, red and white stripes. One of the straps are broken. I never bothered to by another one. I have a great idea! "Same, we should all go swimsuit shopping!"

Nikki looks at me smiling. "Yes omg! We'll look so good for the party!"

"I'm not sure if I should go to the party though... I've never been to a high school party, it might be dangerous..." I say worryingly

"Oh come on Abs! Live a little! I've been to two high school parties and nothing's happened to me! Don't worry, we'll all be there!" Nikki says as she does jazz hands with Christina and Olivia.

I groan. "Ugh, okay I'll come. When is it?"

"In about 3 weeks from now." Nikki recalls.

"That's a while away. But we'll have plenty of time!" Christina says.

"Yeah! And I bet Titty is coming! Ooh Abs, aren't you excited about that?" Olivia raises her eyebrows at me.

Tyler?! No way! Oh no! I'm thinking about him again! "Well, if he is, then I ain't coming."

"Oh don't be so stubborn! It'll be fun even if he's there!" Nikki puts her arm around mine.

After about 5 minutes of chatting, the bell rings loudly. "There goes the bell kiddos, let's go to class!" I exclaim. We all walk to class in an orderly fashion.

Once we arrive at our form room, I plop my books down. Tyler walks in and sits down right in front of me. The memories of yesterday start flooding in. No! I didn't think about him for 5 minutes! That was my record!

                                                                   .                                 .                               .

While I'm doing my English homework sitting on my bed, dad wanders into the room. "Everything alright Abrielle?"

When I look at him, I get a bit started. He's grown a beard which makes him look really Middle Eastern. I swear he needs to shave that thing off. "Yeah, just doing my homework."

Dad smiles at me. "That's my good girl! Well I need to go off now. Major exercising I need to do." Then he trots away to the door.

I suddenly remember about the birthday party. "Hey dad! Can I go to a friend's birthday party? It's in three weeks."

He pops his head from the side of the door. "Okay. But you need to tell us everything about it. What exact date, time, who, where, and be safe! And if mum says yes too."

I smile. "I will!"

I grab my phone and excitedly text Nikki, Christina and Olivia 'My dad said yes to the party! For now...' I lie on the bed grinning. This will be the most fun I'm ever going to have! Hopefully my parents don't change their mind. And Tyler won't show up though... shit, I'm thinking about him, AGAIN.
