It's Complicated

Chapter 25

Abrielle's POV

"What do you guys think about Kendall?" Christina asks Olivia, Nikki and I. It's been three days since she started. I don't really know if I like her, I've only ever talked to her once, and that's when we were paired up in science for an experiment. She seems alright, but I have a slight feeling that she's a bitch. I know I probably sound really jealous but I'm not, she is pretty and her makeup is nice (although she wears like a shit load), I just don't really like her, y'know.

"She's okay, everyone seems to love her." Olivia replies eating her sandwich.

"Yeah, but I'm not so found of her." Nikki adds.

"Same, I feel like she's kind of... a bitch, y'know." I say in a small voice. 

"I know right?" Nikki agrees. "Every time she talks to someone it seems like she's hypnotising them with her looks."

Christina nods. "Yeah, and she's super popular already."

When the bell rings for the end of lunchtime, we go back to our lockers and grab our books to go to period 4. I check the timetable and it says maths. Great. We have to have another lesson with Ms Tiera the dragon lady. And Kendall will meet her for the first time. I wonder how that will go?

We walk into maths and settle down in the seats. Ms Tiera shuts up the class by shouting at us to be quiet. Maybe she should be quieter for once. "Now class, I have been informed there is a new student in the class. Kendall?"

Kendall sits up from her seat and puts her hand up. "That's me miss."

To my shock, Ms Tiera smiles. Like, actually SMILES. Okay, this isn't the first time she's smiled but she hasn't smiled that big. "Welcome to the school Kendall!" Has Kendall sucked up Ms Tiera's brain or something?! She is quite the manipulator. Like no one makes Ms Tiera smile so much, that's humanely impossible.

Mrs Tiera tells us to continue work from the textbook while she calls Kendall to her desk to explain the topic we're doing, which is the Cartesian plane. Why do we need to learn this shit anyway? How is this going to help us in the future? I'm sick of maths.

Olivia turns to me with a confused face. "Did... did Ms Tiera just smile? Like really smile?"

"Yeah I know right?" I reply. I'm as confused as her.

"True, does she have magical powers or something?" Nikki overhears us from behind, sitting next to Christina.

"Her good looks hypnotised her." Christina says in a serious tone.

"Can't trust hoes these days." Nikki sighs.

We laugh and get back to our work. I look up from my book for a brief moment and I catch a glimpse of Tyler talking to Alex. I watch them for a while while they have a conversation. It really hurts looking at him. I wish things were better between us, but I have no idea how to fix our relationship- *cough* friendship I mean, we were never together. 

After doing a few questions from the textbook I set my eyes on Kendall who's walking back to her seat next to Georgia, another girl in our class. Coincidentally, they're placed right behind Tyler and Alex. She starts talking to Tyler and I attentively listen to their conversation, because eavesdropping on people is way more important than doing maths. 

"Hey, Tyler? could you help me with this question?"

"Oh yeah, sure." He answers with wide eyes. He probably wasn't expecting her to just pop up like a jack in a box.

"Thanks!"

He leans over to her table and points at the worksheet. "It's simple, you just replace the x with 0 because you need to find the y-intercept."
