Part 2
I laid on the bed with McKayla once again lying on her side of the bed. I rested my arm across her waist, allowing my body to become one with hers. When her breathing stopped, I would awaken.
Brady took Michael and Serena took Alexis. There was no way I could raise three fledglings. But I would keep Michael and Alexis close by. It was a fight to get them to leave when they saw me carrying in their mother’s alive and breathing body. I had to promise them they would be the first to see her when she awakened in the evening and was ready for visitors. King Dracula stayed through most the night, helping me get her through her pains of death. She’s been through so much and she didn’t deserve another ounce of pain, even if she wouldn’t remember it.
All her scars and blemishes were gone. Every wrinkle and pore disappeared. Her skin was as smooth as silk. She didn’t turn pale white, instead her naturally tanned olive toned skin only lighten, leaving behind just a hint of color. The rest of her body’s skin tightened and smoothened bringing back its youthfulness and glow. Her hair was radiant, soft, and full of color. Her nails grew to perfect length, appearing like smoothed diamonds, as they took on the lethal sharpness. She was always beautiful. I never noticed she had so many flaws. But now her beauty was beyond words.
King Dracula left us with a proud smile on his face with only one word, “perfect.” She was perfect in every way.
I felt her tossing under my arm. I couldn’t believe she held on to that trait. I laid still trying to dig into her mind once again. She turned into me, nuzzling her head into my chest. She thought she was dreaming, she didn’t want to wake up, then she remembered angels don’t sleep and their throats don‘t burn. She slowly opened her eyes seeing for the first time in amazement through a vampire’s eyes. Through the midst of the red specks in her eyes, I saw life in her vibrant, piercing emerald green eyes. Adoringly and patiently I waited for her wondering eyes to stop at me. A smile crossed her perfectly flawless pink lips and I knew it was time.
Without words I ran my nail across my neck, slicing it open. She instinctively latched on and I held nothing back. I let my lust run into her body. I needed her closer. She needed me closer. I embraced her into my arms, rolling over on my back, bringing her on top of me. She pulled away with a moan. Her eyes a very distinct turquoise, a color I will need to remember. She needed more. She could not be done yet. I bit my tongue bringing her into a passionate kiss. I would be gentle with her, I would go slowly. No games, no playing, just and only love.
I didn’t care about my work, I didn’t care about my new prisoners, I didn’t care about what was happening outside my bedroom walls. All I cared about was laying curled in my lap with her head on my chest, peacefully sleeping, with only a blanket to cover her. I knew I would need to dress her soon, take her to the throne room. I needed to feed, she needed to feed. I filed through my papers of slaves, trying to find the perfect one. I came across a Henry Abbott, her grizzly man. I wondered if it would be too much for her first. I would drink first, severely weakening him, if not leaving him unconscious. Over the years I have broken him down, making him submissive, obedient and fearful. My head guards would be here soon to receive my answer. I had to choose. I didn’t want to disturb her sleep.
There was the knock on the door that I was waiting for. I moved my hand up to her chest holding the blanket in place. I mumbled, “Come in” softly. The guards would hear me and know not to wake her.
“Have you decided my majesty?” The guard whispered softly, and astonished, being the first other than King Dracula and I to see McKayla changed.
“She’s beautiful,” the other guard said on accident and out of surprise. Catching him self too late.
I smiled with pride glancing down at her, and then back up. It was out of line to speak about a royal fledgling, especially without being spoken to first, but I let it slide. Her beauty will throw many off at first. “Henry Abbott, in the dungeon, cell 313.” She will be fine as long as I am by her side to protect her.
