Chapter 26

Sean showed up early this evening with the names to all the fledglings. How he got them, I don’t know. I have never heard of any fledgling waking up that early. I can only assume he got them out of Bruce.

McKayla whimpered in her sleep looking for me aimlessly throughout the bed. I sat on the far edge of the bed watching her continue her search, until she opened her perfect sparkling emerald eyes, with sapphire blue specks highlighting the green. A small smile crossed her full, soft pink lips when she found me. Her dark brown messy hair appeared black against my shadow, but yet it still shined with life. Her slightly tan and silky smooth skin was radiating in the dim light. I couldn’t help but notice her toned body as she crawled across the bed to me. She leaned in kissing me passionately. For the first time in just shy of a month, she woke up not afraid, not in pain, and alone with me.

Fledglings are like children. They are reborn into this world, their smell, hearing, sight, taste, and touch are all enhanced, but they tend to hold on to their human ways. This makes them timid by nature, but their enhanced emotions could change on moment’s notice. It is then they need to be taught to control their emotions and express them respectfully. They do need to be punished at times, but they also need to be rewarded. They need to be protected, cherished and given attention. They need to be nurtured in to feeling safe, loved and secured. Those are the basics to raising a happy, loyal, and respectful fledgling.

Bruce did not follow any of the basics; therefore, he stood no chance with his fledglings being faithful to him. He relied on their fear and shyness to raise them. He never allowed them to experience any of their new senses or abilities for the good. He never allowed them to play and have fun. He never looked at any of them as an individual, but only as a number to fight in his wars. Any fledgling will turn on their maker to take the chance to feel safe and possibly loved. His fledglings witnessed firsthand how we treated ours and that is what they wanted and needed.

McKayla’s presence a lone is a distraction from my work. I have eighteen neglected and abused fledglings to place with older, loyal and trustworthy vampires, that I know will have the patience for them. That I know will raise them correctly and teach them to live under my rule. That will nurture them into being decent and humane vampires. Teach them self-control against their emotions and urges.

But I’m getting nowhere. The length of McKayla’s naked and glowing body pressed firmly into my back side is making this impossible. Her playful, gentle, nibbling on my back is making this impossible. Her tiny, delicate body trembling in its sleep from the pleasure I just rewarded her with is making this impossible. Her beautiful lustful moans continue ringing in my ears from before is making this impossible. Her sweet fragrance is- ah, f*ck this shit; she doesn’t bite that hard in her sleep. I need to claim my giggling queen again and remind her she belongs to me, for all eternity.

Although our roads will always be bumpy

There will be times she will be my enemy

During those times of hardship, she won’t be free

But still, I will always love her, for all eternity

In the valleys of those bumpy roads, we find peace and tranquility

On top of the peaks we will feel serenity

It’s in between the peak and valley

We will fight to find harmony

But through it all she will be with me

For all eternity

Through those bumpy roads I will guarantee

The times she acts playfully

Or when she curls up peacefully

Will outnumber her times of anxiety

For all eternity

No matter how many times she makes me angry

Or sends through me unbearable waves of jealousy

I will always stand over her protectively

For she will always belong to me

For all eternity

Just like us

Our love will never grow old, it will never perish

Every second our love strengthens more

There is nothing it cannot endure

I will always belong to her

As she will always belong to me

For all eternity

There is no hill or bump

We cannot overcome

For we will always be

For all eternity

I couldn't make you guys wait for the last 2 pages.
