Kevin
"I told you." Mom said as soon as I entered the house. I shot daggers at her, rude of me, sorry but she was pushing me. I ran up the stairs, three at a time, came up to the hall panting and almost broke down Kendall's door as I knocked on it. "Come in!" He said
I opened the door and went inside to catch him leaning over a suitcase. "Where are you going?" I asked him. He put a pair of neatly folded jeans on top of a plaid shirt before looking up. "U.K."
"Why?"
He paused and looked at me for a second. He went back to stuffing clothes in his bags; not answering. "Look," I told him. "where-ever you're going, I don't give a damn. But someone does. Someone needs you here. Someone needs you to be with them. Someone-"
"In case you haven't noticed," He cut me off. "I don't care about that 'someone'. Drop it Kev." He said. "I'm not staying. My fans are waiting for me. I need them more than anything now."
"But-"
"I'm not staying." He growled through gritted teeth, trying to remain under control. My head dropped in defeat. I gulped, "You know you love her." I left.
Kendall
'You know you love her'
Those words stung like a quiver full of arrows. Do I?
Deep down, maybe there was a part of me that did, but I hated her. No- all of me loved her. I just... wanted a change so I could collect my thoughts. But I also needed her to be safe, no matter what happened, I had to at least make sure she stayed safe. What did she even do? I never even got to ask.

Everyone was down at the dinner table. I was, too, for like the first time in weeks. I was just there to make peace between us. It was really awkward.
No one uttered a word. The only sound was of cutlery against china. "So," Dad began suddenly. Clearly trying to step out of the humid air. The one you can't breathe in. "How's the music coming along, Kendall?"
"Great," I answered in monotone.
"Good, good." He said. "Are you planning a tour some time soon?"
"No. I'm going to Europe though, tomorrow. I have to visit the fans because the shows got cancelled." I told him.
"That's nice of you." Kevin remarked waspishly. I glared at him across the table.
"Why do you even care?" I snapped.
"She's my sister. She's more than just a friend to me. She's family." I could the muscles in his arms tightening and a vein throbbing in his temple.
"When will you come back?" Dad asked, as if reminding us of his presence.
"I don't know." I mumbled.
"What do you mean?" Mom asked. I didn't answer her. I kept chewing until the food was a lump inside my mouth. It still took a lot of effort to swallow. I drained a glass of water in one go and left the room. I settled in the living room to watch BBC or something.
Minutes later, Kevin came out too and he said in the single seat on the opposite side of the lounge, and after some fidgeting, I finally found the courage to talk.
"Kev." I called softly.
"What?" He snapped, his eyes on the screen. I flinched.
"What- what did she do?" I asked, getting hot around the ears.
"Who?" Kevin asked, nonchalantly.
"K-Kim." I barely managed. I bit my lip as her face flashed in front of my eyes. Big, brown, smiling eyes. The cute little nose, the dimple in her left cheek.
"Why do you even care?" He sneered and left me staring after him.
"Kevin!" I called after him, stumbling out of the couch and going after him- but all that answered me was a door being banged shut.
The noise echoed in my ears. Why? This wasn't supposed to happen. What if maybe she still likes you? You mean she misses me? Why would she? That's it, isn't it?
----
I woke up, dazed and worn out. The first thing that crossed my mind was of her. Finding out what she did and what made her do it.
I took a hot long shower, trying to relax and clear my head. When I was done, I threw on my clothes and picked up my bags and my guitar case. I took them downstairs. I had a quick breakfast and then Kenneth helped me haul my luggage into the trunk. He was going to drop me at the air port before going to the office.
I said my goodbyes, (completely being ignored by Kevin) and waited outside while Kenneth went inside to get some files or whatever. I got to thinking.
I needed someone to watch her. Someone who won't let her get suspicious. Someone who was bubbly and could keep her company. Mackenzie.
I called Logan and demanded to talk to her.
"Hey Kendall! What's going on?"
"A lot." I told her. She chuckled. Without giving her a chance to say anything else, I said.
"Mac, I need a huge favor."
"Sure what is it?"
"You know about the- the incident, right?"
"Yeah." all cheerfulness draining out of our conversation.
"I- I need you to be with her."
"What do you mean?"
"M-make sure she's okay."
