Part 4: control

After the dinner, i left.

I know it was so rude of me. Pero wala na akong pakialam. I can't stand hearing Chaster's stories of how him and Cady met. Hindi ko rin masikmura kung paano na lang sila maglandian sa harapan namin. I mean, she lived in New York and people there were liberated. She's kind of liberated to me now.

Naiirita ako hindi dahil marami ng nagbago sa kanya kundi dahil nakikita ko pa rin ang dating siya sa likod ng imahe na pinapakita niya ngayon.

I don't want to assume or hope that she is still the Cady i knew but i don't even have the right to complain if she is not. Ano ba ang magagawa ko? Ano pa ba ang pakialam ko? I shouldn't care anymore.

And the tear fell earlier? It shouldn't fell in the first place because i moved on. I'm already over her. It's been seven years and i'm fine now. I know i'm fine now.

I just think i needed to have a drink tonight. A real man's drink.

Niyaya ko sina Troy, Jules at Lexus. Hindi ako nahirapan dahil balak din talaga nilang lumabas ng gabing iyon.

I texted them that i'm on my way to the bar. Maaga pa kaya hindi ko aasahang naroon na sila.

I parked my car in front of my cousin's bar. It's more of a chill kind of bar. The music isn't so loud and there's no disco lights in the area. It's just a dim light with candles on a wood table and wood chairs. Open area din ito. Mayroong tables din sa loob tulad ng nasa labas kung gusto mo ng air-condition.

Sinalubong ako ng kilalang waiter ng makapasok ako sa loob.

"Maaga po kayo ngayon Sir ah?" Tanong ng waiter na si Emman.

"Oo eh. I needed a drink. Nandito ba ngayon si Gia?" Yes, Gia owned this place. She has four of these place in different cities.

Umiling si Emman at ginaya ako sa table sa labas. May mga halaman sa paligid at marami na rin ang tao. Jam packed pa nga ito actually. "Wala po ngayon dito si Maam."

"Okay, just give me a bottle of jack and coke."

"That would be all Sir?"

"Yes, Emman."

Umalis na si Emman para asikasuhin ang aking order. Tinext ko naman ang tatlo kong kaibigan na narito na ako sa bar ni Gia at si Troy pa lamang ang papunta.

Dumating ang order ko at nag umpisa na akong uminom. Sa tapat kong table ay mga grupo ng mga babae. Apat sila at halatang pasulyap sulyap sila sa gawi ko. Wala naman akong ibang katabi, kaya alam kong ako ang tinitingnan nila.

Girls... Napailing na lang ako. They flirt with you, and then you gave them what they' want, they will ask for more. They expect you to respect them while they don't even respect themselves.

You fall in love with them, gave them the world, love them unconditionally but in the end they will just leave you like you mean nothing to them. They are scared with the reality but they are not scared with the fantasy.

Ininom ko ang alak sa aking baso.

Abala ako sa pagsasalin ng alak ng may umupo sa upuan sa aking harapan. Hindi na ako nagulat. It's one of the girls in the other table.

Inangat ko ang tingin ko sa kanya. She has this foreign blood in her that made her look exotic. She's pretty.

"You mind if i sit here?" Malambing niyang tanong. Nang matapos kong salinan ang baso ko ay tamad akong uminom dito.
