Taylor's P.O.V.
Two weeks later
A wise friend once told me don't cling onto the past. Move on, live life
It's been two weeks since I've now worked for intelligence. And I've listened to my friend, I've moved on. Voight wanted Antonio and Adam to drive over to firehouse 51 to ask questions about the case. But I volunteered, I could help. But mainly because I haven't been there for awhile. I climbed into the car in the passenger seat as he started the car and began to leave the parking lot.
"How's your leg?" He asked
"Good. Finally I don't have to use the crutches anymore but still the brace until Dr. Rhodes gives me the clear"
"Hey, that's good news"
He pulled out of the parking lot. I smiled and nodded "Yup" In the duration of the two weeks Antonio and I became close. He gave me a ride everyday to work. Actually I became close to basically everyone. Expect Jay, I found him kind of odd. After arriving at the firehouse we began walking inside. I missed this place
"I'm gonna go talk to Boden" Antonio said to me
I nodded as he left. I walked into the main room to see all the familiar faces sitting around "Hey, look who it is!"
Everyone turned and I smiled "Hey, guys"
Shay ran over to me and put her arm around my neck "Missin this place yet?"
I chuckled "You know I always will"
She chuckled and walked away to sit next Gabby "Hey, can I talk to you outside?" Kelly asked approaching me
I nodded and we both left. We walked outside of the firehouse "How's your leg feeling?"
I stuffed my hands in my jean pockets "Pretty good, I have an appointment soon at Chicago Med to see how long until the brace can come off. Which probably won't be anytime soon"
He chuckled "Don't worry, things have a way of working out"
I nodded "Yea, I know"
I looked at him to see him staring at the ground "Hey, listen" He said looking up at me "I had a really good time last night"
"Yea, I did too. And night before that, and the night before that" I smiled at him. We had been having dinner and going to the movies for the past week
He chuckled "Yea"
"Hey, I got all I needed you ready to go?" Antonio asked coming our way
I cleared my throat softly "Uh, yea. Yea"
"Alright, well I'll see you later" Kelly said to me
I nodded as Kelly walked away. I watched him in admiration as he walked away
"How long you been seeing this guy?"
I turned to Antonio "What? No, I mean were just friends"
"Yea, cause that's what it looked like"
"Come on" I said walking to the car
"Come on, you can tell me" He said walking after me
I smiled to myself as I opened the passenger door "Let it go Antonio" He began driving back to the district
"Hey you had said earlier your the one who brought Jay into the district right? You know him pretty well?" I asked
"Yea that's right"
"So what's that locked drawer Jay has at his desk?" I asked
He looked at me for a second "What are you talking about?"
"I mean I've seen all the other desk and he's the only one that has a locked drawer. What does he have inside it? You must know something"
"Hmm no, I don't know. I don't ever ask"
I looked out the window "Hmm"
Once we got to the district we went inside and headed upstairs. After getting upstairs I noticed no one was there "Where is everybody?" I asked
"Everybody is separated out on the case" He explained
That gave me an idea "Antonio can you go downstairs and watch to see if Jay comes back. If he does tell me"
"What? Taylor" He gave me a look
"Tony please. If he's coming up try and stall him. Text me when he's coming up"
He stood still "Please" I begged
He exhaled "Fine" He turned around and walked down the stairs
I took my phone out and laid it on Jay's desk. I looked around for a key but I couldn't find one. I took a bobby pin from my hair and tried picking the lock
Antonio waited at the bottom of the stairs for any sign of Jay "Shit" He mumbled to himself when he saw Jay walking inside the building "Hey, Jay"
"Hey, what's up?" He asked as Antonio stopped in front of him
"Listen I gotta ask you about something"
"Yes!" I exclaimed softly when the lock opened. I put the bobby pin back in my hair and opened the drawer. I noticed a file, I grabbed it to see if there was anything else but it was just that. I took it out and sat on his chair. I sighed as I opened the file. My eyes widen as soon as I did
Taylor Marie Halstead "What the hell.." I said with a soft voice. I could feel my heart beginning to race. I flipped through papers and my heart only raced faster. My birth certificate is here, I never had this. I scanned my birth certificate but my eyes stuck on the names. The names of my parents, I remembered Antonio telling me the name of Jay's parents. Exact same on my birth certificate
My phone began to buzz, I quickly checked it. Jay's coming up. I was speechless, I quickly closed the file and stuffed it into the drawer. I could hear footsteps coming up. I softly closed the drawer, stood up taking my phone and moving over to my desk. Or limping really. Jay came up the stairs followed by Antonio. Jay went straight to his desk and Antonio turned to look at me
I simply looked away. I still couldn't believe what I just saw. Only 5 minutes later the rest of the team was slowly coming up. Okay, I can do this. I stood up from my desk and walked over to Jay "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
Jay's P.O.V.
I looked up at Taylor for a second before nodding my head. We both stood up and walked into another room. She turned around to face me
"I'm gonna ask you something and I need you to be honest with me" She crossed her arms in her chest
I took a hard swallow "Okay"
She peered at the ground before looking up at me again "Who am I? To you?"
I exhaled, shit. She knows but I know she wanted to hear it from me. Can't get out of this one "Your my sister. My biological sister"
She stared at me for a minute. She began to move passed me but I tried to grab her arm "Taylor.." I began
"Don't touch me" She said with a hiss. I took a deep breath as she walked out
