Taylor's P.O.V.
Benjamin Franklin once said honesty is the best policy
I didn't know what I was doing but I had to get out of here. I couldn't drive so I took a cab instead. I went straight to Kelly's apartment because he had just gotten out
"Wait here" I told the cab driver as I got out of the car and into the apartment building. Once I went up I knocked on his apartment door. I waited only a minute before he opened the door
"Hey, Taylor"
I walked in without an invitation, I don't normally do that but I was furious right now "You won't believe what just happened" I said turning to him
"Taylor, I.." He began
"Jay is my brother. My biological brother" I spilled
He exhaled "That's great"
I began to pace back and forth in a short path "Yes that's what I thought but he knew. The entire time he knew. I mean he kept a file on me. In a locked drawer. What kind of guy does that?! What kind of brother does that?! I mean I've been working with them for two weeks and he never decided to mention it. Not even once"
"Kelly?"
I turned my head to see a girl coming from Kelly's bedroom. And she was dressed in nothing but one of his t-shirts "Stella?"
She nervously chuckled "Hey Taylor"
I looked back to Kelly "Taylor, I can explain"
I began walking past him and to the door "Forget it"
"Taylor, just wait" He said after he exhaled
"Seriously Kelly, don't touch me" I walked or better yet stormed out of his place. And the apartment building
I climbed into the cab "Take me home" I told him leaning my back against the seat. After he took me home I texted Antonio to tell Voight I had to leave work because my leg was acting up. Good excuse, I thought. It would've looked really bad because I left work just like that
Antonio kept texting me and texting me asking me what happened. But I never answered, I wanted to tell him in person. Kelly also kept blowing up my phone but he was the least person I actually wanted to talk to. Right after Antonio's shift was done I knew he would be at is boxing gym. So that's where I went. After getting there I walked inside to see people scattered around boxing. I looked around for him but once he saw me he had someone else help he person he was helping. He took off his gloves and walked up to me
"Hey, you alright?" He asked leading me outside away from the noise
I nodded my head "I think so, I mean I saw this coming right?"
"Taylor what happened?"
"Jay, he's actually my brother. Like my biological brother" I explained
"Is that what was in the locked drawer?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest
I looked at the ground for a second "Yea, it was a file about me but get this. He has my birth certificate in there that I don't even have. I mean he's known for so long. He's never told any of you guys anything? Anything at all about me?"
Antonio looked past me and shook his head "No, nothing"
I exhaled as pressed my lips together "Look I'm sorry I ran out just like that and thanks for covering my ass with Voight"
"Hey Antonio. We need you in here" A young guy said from inside
Antonio nodded at him as he left "It's no problem. What are you going to do now?"
I looked at him "I'm gonna go meet my other brother. I saw in the file, Jay's name. Mine, and someone else named Will. Apparently he works at Chicago Med"
Antonio touched my arm in comfort "Becareful, let me know what goes down"
I smiled at him "I will" I began to walk away as he stood at the doorway
"Hey" He called out
I turned around "You need a ride?"
I shook my head "I'm in cab, but thanks" I waved to him and turned to walk away. I smiled to myself as I walked to the cab. I climbed inside "Chicago Med please" I said to the driver. He started the ignition and took off
I fiddled with my fingers and stared at my feet. Wait no. Am I really smiling about Antonio? I mean we're friends. That's it. Right? I couldn't possibly have feelings for him. After he arrived I grabbed money from my pocket and gave it to him "Thanks"
I opened the door and climbed out. I took a deep breath before I walked inside the hospital. It was sort of busy, I walked up to any girl I first saw behind the counter
"Hi" I said
She looked up at me "Hi, may I help you?"
She was dressed in blue scrubs and had her hair up "I'm uh, looking for Will Halstead" I spoke up
"What's this regarding?" She asked
"Uh, family matters"
She looked at be confused. Yea I'm pretty much his long lost sister that no one knows about. Please let it work
"Wait here" She said as she left
I exhaled loudly. Good it worked
"Taylor?"
I turned around to see Dr. Rhodes "Dr. Rhodes, hi" I smiled
He had a file in his hand "What are you doing here? You appointment isn't until the end of this week"
I nodded "Yea I know. I'm just here to see a friend"
"Ah okay. How's your leg?"
I looked down at it "It's still there that's a good sign right" I joked
He pointed the file he had in his hand at me "Friday, be here"
I nodded and saluted "Yes sir" He chuckled and shook his head as he walked away. I turned back around and saw the women coming back with someone behind her. Must be Will. She walked back behind the counter and he approached me "How may I help you" He asked
We moved from the counter "Yea um" I scratched my forehead. Alright come on. I looked up at him "I'm Taylor, Halstead" I said sticking out my hand "I'm your biological sister"
