Chapter 17

Antonio's P.O.V.

Leon Brown once said healing is not an overnight process. It is a daily cleansing of pain, it is a daily healing of your life

It's been two weeks since Taylor has been out of the hospital. She was in for a week and she's been home for the two weeks. But today she's coming back to work. After picking her up we parked and began walking to the entrance

"You didn't have to come back to work so soon" I said

"I know Antonio but if I stay home for yet another day I will go crazy" She said looking at me as we walked "Crazy" She repeated

I chuckled "Right. Well at least your behind a desk all day"

"Well thanks" She said sarcastically

"I'm just saying I think you should've stayed home for more rest"

"I've had two weeks of rest and yea I'm basically behind a desk all day so I will be fine"

We reached the steps and began to walk up "Antonio"

I stopped at the second step while Taylor stopped next to me "Shit" I whispered so softly to where hopefully Taylor didn't hear. I turned around "Laura" I said in a surprised tone

She took a couple steps towards us. She walked up the steps and gave me a hug. I was surprised by it and I think she knew because I didn't hug her back "How have you been?" She asked with a smile

"I'm uh, good"

She looked at Taylor was is next to me. Her smile pretty much faded "Can I talk to Antonio alone?"

I sighed and turned to look at Taylor "I'll just uh, be inside" She turned around and walked up the rest of the steps. I turned back to Laura

"Who is that girl?" Laura asked

I stuffed my hands in my pockets "She's someone I work with here"

She crossed her arms "Is she your girlfriend?"

"What are you doing here Laura?" I asked avoiding the question

"Can you watch the kids tonight?"

I nodded my head "Why couldn't you just call me to ask me that?"

She moved side to side "Because I wanted to see you"

I scoffed "Okay" I turned around and began walking up the steps

"You better not have a girlfriend Antonio" She said in an annoyed attitude

I stopped walking and turned around "Goodbye Laura" Once again I turned around and rolled my eyes and walked inside. After buzzing up I walked the steps and took off my jacket to leave it at my chair. I noticed Taylor at the coffee room so I made my way over there. I began to prepare of coffee same as her

"So that's Laura, I would say it's nice to meet her but I didn't actually meet her" She commented

I didn't look up from making my coffee "I'm sorry about her, I didn't expect her to just show up here"
