Hallie and Jesse invited you to celebrate their parents anniversary. You wanted to turn down an invitation but Jesse insisted on your being there. From the very beginning of your relationships with Jesse, you felt nervous about her parents reaction on it. Jesse's father liked you because you always asked him different questions concerning sociology, but you was afraid of the opinion of his mother. She was nice to you but you knew that mother's are always nice to son's girlfriends. Their family was some kind of perfect family for you and you didn't wanted to ruin it.

In the morning before departure Jesse was calming you down.

" Don't worry, love" he said coming closer to you while you were watching in the mirroor. He appeared in the reflexion and wrapped his arms around your waist. You sighed and he kissed your shoulder. " You look beautiful"

"I'm nervous about your parents reaction on...our relationships" Jesse smiled and rested his chin on your shoulder

"Why?" he whispered,smiling.

" I'm just nervous. What if they are just pretending that they like me?" You looked at his reflexion in the mirror. He was still smiling.

" Silly, silly, my silly Y/N " he kissed you in the neck and you frowned "Okay... we are not going to tell them about us...yet. Love, I just want you to see that they really like you and there is nothing to be afraid of..."

" So we will pretend to be just friends" you said, turning You are so lucky with him. your face to him " One more time..."

" One more time" Jesse whispered and cupped your face in his warm hands. You looked in his blue eyes and saw trust, loyality, love. He gently stroked your cheek. You smiled. You were so lucky to have him in your life.

" I love you" you said

" I love you more" he smiled and leaned closer to kiss you.

He already pressed his lips to yours, when you both were distracted by Hallie's call. You laughed slightly pulling him away.

" Just friends..." you said teasing him, while he took your phone and put the call on mute.

" I want my kiss" he smiled and pulled you closer. Jesse wrapped his hands around you and kissed you.

Jesse's parents had not big but very cozy house. On the walls in the corridor you saw one big wooden board with family photocollage. Photos there were so cute and warm you wanted to cry, but Jesse's mother entered the corridor.

" Y/N, can you help us?" she asked and turned about.

" Yes, of course, Mrs. Eisenberg" you went to the kitchen with nervous smile on your face.

" Call me Amy. It's okay. Do you like baking?" she asked when you entered the kitchen.

" I do, but I haven't baked in ages " you said " Are we going to bake something?"

" Yes. I'll finish with dinner and you with Hallie-Kate will make an apple pie" she said giving you apron.

She helped you tie it around your body. Jesse's mother reminded you of your mother. When you were a kid, she used to cook ad bake with you.

" It suits you" she said and you smiled " Now, whole kitchen is at your service or you want to wait for Hallie. She is helping guys outside ..."

" I guess I can do it by myself. It's fine. Just one question... " you asked " may I use my own recepy? It will be just like a present from me for your celebration with Mr. Eisenberg" your heart nearly stopped from excitement. She smiled looking at you.

" Of course, you can, Y/N. That's so nice from you. You are so enthusiastic"

" Thank you. Yes, I am" you laughed and started peeling apples.

Jesse appeared in the corridor and saw you in apron. He smiled and leaned on the kitchen door - frame. You slightly turned red. Mrs. Eisenberg was standing with her back to the door so she couldn't see how he looked at you. You read by his lips that he said that you look beautiful and you smiled.

" Can I ask you something?" Jesse's mother asked and you dropped the knife on the floor. Jesse raised his eyebrow and went outside

" Yes, sure" you said taking knife from the floor and washing it. Your hands were shaking.What if she ask something about Jesse.

" What do you think about Mike... that boy Hallie dating with?" she said and you exhaled happily.

" I don't really know him, but Hallie told me only good things about him"

" She told me only good things too. But I don't feel that she is happy with him. I don't really like him but it has nothing to do with her happiness" she said and you became a bit worried - what if she thinks so about you too?

" He'd better not hurt her " you said "Being Hallie's best friend I can promise, I'll never let him fool her "

" You are such a good friend " she wondered.

" After all she did for me, after all you all did for me it is the first thing I have to do. And she is my best friend, how can I let someone hurt her?"

You took the pie out of the oven. You were proud of yourself because it looked very tasty. You turned your back to the doors and swiched off the oven. When you turned about you bumped into Jesse's chest. You raised your head to look at him. He smiled.

" It smell so good" he said

" Yeah, I hope it taste good as well" you said and made a step back. Jesse followed you.

" I'm sure it is"

" We are friends here, Jesse" you said

"While they see us... but now they don't" he glanced on your lips and turned closer " One kiss"

You let Jesse kiss you and he wraped his arms around your back. You put your hands on his houlders and answered on his kiss.

You felt yourself uncomfortable. When you opened your eyes and looked at the door, you froze for a second and gently pulled him away.
Hallie and her mother were standing near to the door. Hallie was smiling, but Mrs. Eisenberg seemed to be surprised, looking at you. Her look scared you and made you gasp. You thought your heart stopped. Jesse turned about and took your hand.

" I told you, mom" Hallie said with smile on her face. You were surprised.

Jesse's mother was looking at you and you felt even more anxious. Long and awkward silence exhausted you. You wanted to run away,to dissapear. It was all because of your fear of being "Not enough". " Not smart enough". "Not beautiful enough".

"So, it's my turn to bake a pie for you two? " her words made you stop searching your imperfections. There was kindness in her voice, she sounded like your mother. You looked at her and almost cried " If you care about Hallie as you told me, then my son should feel extremely lucky for having you as his girlfriend and nothing else matters, my child. You became part of this family a long time ago"

You laughed a bit, wipping tears of joy with your sleeve.

" Thank you" you said

" Well, and now... we have two things to celebrate. Bring the pie and we will announce it to whole family"
