Jesse often had nightmares. He told you about specifically one, where he is drowning in the ocean and can't get out from the water no matter how hard he try. You knew what does it mean and you suspected that he also understand the meaning of that nightmare. But at the same time it was a thing you never speak about.

You opened your eyes and saw empty spot next to you. You looked up on the night light and heard Jesse breathing heavily. You stood up a little and looked about, brushing your hair with your hand. He was sitting in the corner of the bed, leaning on the edge.

" Love, is everything okay ?" you stood up rubbing your eyes.

You slowly sat next to him and placed your hand on his shoulder.

" Yeah, just nightmare" he whispered, hiding his face from you "Sorry, I woke you up"

With your other hand, you gently touched his cheek, willing him to stop hiding from you. Jesse turned his head and looked at you. He looked tired and scared. You were so close that you noticed beads of sweat on his forehead and gray bags under his eyes.

" Shhhh....I'm here, Jesse" you said looking him in the eyes " Everything is fine right now. It was only just a dream"

You started stroking his cheek and Jesse closed his eyes, pressing his forehead against yours.

" Was that drowning one again?" you asked

" Yes " he exhaled and suddenly added "This time you were in my dream"

" Really? That's good, I guess." you tried to sound cheerful" Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really" Jesse bit his lip. After, he added " I was going down and you were trying to get out of the water"

" and I pulled us out of the water?"

" I let you go" Jesse whispered.

You sighed and took his hand.He was warm.

" Come here" you said, laying down in the bed.

Jesse laid down next to you, immediately wrapping his arms around your waist. He nestled his head in your neck and you hugged him. You had often fallen asleep like that, especially when you were calming him down after panic-attacks.

" Listen" you whispered "This is only a dream. Stupid, scary nightmare. Because you know that I will never let you drown in the ocean of your fears , don't you?" you continued, gently stroking his shoulder.

He nodded.

" Don't hide those demons from me, Jesse. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone has them. And I know exactly what are you thinking about. But you are still, one of the kindest, one of the best people I've ever met and....I love you" you kissed his forehead " Did you felt that kiss? This is me. Loving you. And I am real. And I won't let you go. Thats what important."

He pressed you up tight to his warm body and kissed your collarbone.

" I love you" he whispered.
