I Have Always Loved You

Chapter 5

DAN POV

I woke up in a strange bed, in a strange room with strange furniture. I gathered my bearings and remembered where I was, a hotel with Phil. Well, not with him in the sense that we were in the same room but it was the same building. I looked at my phone, it was 9 already! I got up and remembered that all my cloths were back home with Martin, I can't face him yet.

I knew that Martin always goes to work at 10 and comes back a 5 so I have all the time in between to go back and get clothes and food. I also need a place to stay while I get back on my feet, Phil is out of the picture, I haven't seen Chris or Pj in years and I don't even think they particularly like me anyway. That only leaves... Well who does it leave, I can't think of anyone who lives near me who would want me to move in with them, i'm not particularly a social person in the first place so making friends is hard.

By the time I have gotten ready it was already 10. I walked out of the hotel room and walked to the corner shop across the road. It was only small and didn't have much inside but I could navigate it easily. I was in and out in a flash avoiding small talk when possible.

I caught the bus to our apartment and made sure Martin's car was gone before going inside. The house was cold and there was glass smashed on the floor, it looked like the remains of a beer bottle. Martin must be drinking again, he drinks to take away the pain. I feel horrible for causing him this much pain but it needed to happen sooner or later, I didn't think we were going to last anyway.

I made my way to our room, making sure not to move anything, I looked round the door to our unmade bed and one of my hoodies lying there. I picked my way across the room to the wardrobe and got enough clothes to last me and my camera and straighteners. I also got my laptop and chargers and the spare change we kept in the cupboard. By the time I left I probably looked like I was going hiking, not staying at a hotel for a few weeks.

I caught the bus back to the hotel, only to see Pj standing outside.
