Dan's POV
It's almost Phil's birthday and I need to buy him something soon. I know he likes candles and he likes to read and socks, of course. But I can't just get him that stuff.
I grab my coat and my keys then left our apartment. The road outside was full of people and they were just pushing and shoving making me feel automatically uncomfortable. I got onto a bus and had to awkwardly stand up because every seat was taken.
When I finally got off the bus after an annoying 20 minute ride I walked into the shopping centre. I look at the many stores and I walk towards HMV to try and find a CD or DVD for Phil. I walked slowly down each aisle looking for something that Phil might like, I begin to browse the anime section when I hear some voices conversing behind the dvd stands. I look into the next aisle and see PJ. He isn't with Phil but I still hide behind the stand. I notice the voice almost immediately - Chris Kendall.
"I don't know either. I hated it though. And I hate lying to Phil," PJ says. What does he mean, did he cheat on Phil? I don't even want to know what happened. I didn't want to hear anything that could possibly hurt Phil. Even though he hurt me so long ago.
I do wonder what they were talking about though. Why is PJ lying to Phil? Why is he talking to Chris? He wouldn't do anything to hurt Phil, right?
I look down and quickly walk towards another store. I walk inside the store and keep looking around for something to buy Phil. I see an awesome scented candle and pick it up. It is Raspberry, and I know that he likes raspberry so I hope he likes it. I also find The Fault in Our Stars. We rented the movie and we both cried, and loved. I buy everything and leave the shopping centre as fast as possible and grab a taxi back to the apartment in an attempt to make the journey shorter, unfortunately there was road works which made my day 10x worse. I finally got home and collapsed onto my bed in relief.
