Chapter 12

Ashtons P.O.V

No...It cant be...I swear to god if that prick comes near her again I'm going to kill him. She sat there in my arms and looked so scared. Broken. Holding her I felt her pain. Mine grew knowing I couldn't take it away.

"I'm sorry," She said. "I never should have left Australia. This is all my fault." She sobbed.

"No Skylar, Don't you dare say that. You had an opportunity that only comes to a handful of people you should have taken it. Its not your fault. He never should have ever laid a hand on you." I said. She layed her head on my shoulder.

"I swear to god if he ever comes near you again, he'll regret it."

Skylars P.O.V

I looked up to Ashton and smiled.

"Drummer in a band...Could be intimidating... but you look like a fucking teddy bear." I said with a giggle. He laughed.

"Cals the teddy bear! I've never met anybody as clingy as HIM before. Besides maybe you" He said with a smirk. I slapped his chest playfully and sat up. Ashton kept his arms around me.

"I need to find Paige," I said. He stuck his bottom lip out and gave me puppy eyes.

"Ash!!!" I whined. He knew I couldn't resist that face. His smile showed his triumph and he kissed my cheek.

"5 more minutes. Then I have to go." I said. He nodded. We sat there in silence for about a minute before Ashtons head shot up.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Your missing Paige... I'm missing Calum..." He said. Our eyes widened. Scrambling off the bed we bolted for the door.

"WHERE COULD THEY BE?!?!" He asked once in the hallway. I looked around. Paige is smart when it comes to hiding... The last possible place she could be...The house.

"Ash! C'Mon!!" I said. He followed me as we ran down the hallway. He stopped at the elevator. One thing about Ashton? He never used the stairs.

"ASHTON REALLY?!?!" I laughed. he sighed and trudged after me. Down about six flights of stairs. Once we reached the bottom we bolted for the door. Paige would have taken a taxi home to make me think she didn't leave the car. The arena was right down the road. Only bad part was that people were still there. Ashton looked down at me.

"I GOT THIS DUDE!!!!" I yelled as a plan came into mind. I hailed a taxi and when we got in I told the driver this,

"We need to get to the back of the staples center, out of sight of all those girls." Surprisingly he didn't argue. Ashton looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Trust me! When have I ever suggested something and have it not go well?" I asked. Ashton looked at me.

"I can name a few," He chuckled.

"Okay, look I was babysitting and you just decided to come over the kid wanted to go to the park so we went to the park! Not my fault he pissed his pants!" I said.

"He said he had to pee!!" Ashton laughed.

"Yea but then he went and played more!" I defended with a laugh

"HE RAN BEHIND A BUSH SKYLAR!!!" Ashton laughed. I couldn't help but smile.

"Ok fine you win but this idea will work trust me," I said. Ashton smiled and took my hand holding it gently. Like he was asking me if it was ok. I took his hand in mine and held it. Our fingers laced and they fit just right. I missed it.

When we arrived at the staples center the man dropped Ashton off and I got out.

"Typical diversion alright? Stay behind the fence and then when Luke and Michael try to get revenge... help me out!" I said with a smile.

"Wait Skylar what" Was all I heard before I ran out to the girls.

"OMG GUYS!!!! 5SOS IS THAT HOTEL RIGHT DOWN THE BLOCK!!!" I yelled. Screams and tears ran past me in a blur. Once all the girls were down at the hotel I walked back to get Ashton.

"They are going to kill you, you know that right?" He asked with a laugh. I nodded and took his hand lacing our fingers as We walked to the parking lot. The silence between us wasn't awkward. It was comforting. Just the feel of him beside me filled my heart. Having him with me again made me complete. When we reached the car our hands separated and he got into the passenger side seat as I took the driver's. Ashton looked anxious.

"What's wrong Ash?" I asked with a giggle as I back out of the parking spot. He smiled.

"One I have no idea what Calum has done to your place and two your driving." He said with a smile. I glared at him.

"I've gotten better alright!" I defend with a laugh.

*FLASHBACK*

"You'll do fine babe" Ashton said as we waited at the start of the course. I was nervous but confident. When the car pulled up the girl who went before me got out with a smile. Seemed to go alright. The instructor handed her a paper and she smiled again. Taking the paper gently and then walking back inside. He nodded to me and I left Ashtons side and walked to the car. Getting inside it all felt normal. I had this. When I started to drive all felt good. I felt as though I was being ignored. Looking to the instructor I saw he was on his phone. Oh no he didn't. Slamming my foot on the gas I raced around each cone and barrel hitting some on purpose.

When I finished the course I jumped out of the car and walked over to Ashton who was wide eyed. I took his hand and we left the place laughing.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

Smiling at the memory I lost track of where I was and almost missed the turn to my block. Swerving to catch it I watched Ashton grab the back of his seat. I laughed and drove to the driveway where we pulled in and quickly got out of the car. Rushing to the house I heard loud music. I shoved open the door and saw feathers everywhere. Pillow cases all over the floor. Looking to the dining room I saw what looks like silly string all over the place. Sighing I took the stairs to the second floor and walked to Paige's room. Opening the door I saw streamers and duct tape and silly string all over the room. Paige was on the bed laughing hysterically. when she noticed Ashton and I she stopped and sat up straight.

"Hey Skylar," She said nervously.

"Where is Calum?" I asked. Paige looked to the bathroom. Calums face appeared from behind the door. Ashton sighed with frustration and relief it sounded like. Taking Ashtons hand I turned to leave. Paige didn't notice the hands.

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!?!?" She yelled.

"To sleep! In Calums bed while you two stay and clean this shit up!" I said with a smile. Calum looked at me with puppy eyes.

"Doesn't work Calum, see you guys tomorrow. Don't you dare do anything stupid or remotely sexual or I will kill you both!" I yell over my shoulder before leaving the house with Ashton close behind chuckling at the way I handled it.
