Monroe's POV:

"How's everything been? When did you move to Santa Monica?" She asked me as we sat outside a small ice cream shop. Kendrick took Gwen home and let Roxanne and I spend some time together. "Well... I was in the foster care system." I looked at her. Her dark green eyes frowned when she met my brown ones. "Really?" She asked and I nodded. "I've been in it since I was 8." I bit my lip. "No one told me." She sighed. "I didn't have anyone to go to. Mom's sisters wouldn't answer." I looked at her.

She frowned. "I can't believe they did that. They should've at least told me." I shrugged. "Can we talk about something else?" I looked at her and she bit her lip. "Sure. I'm sorry. How's school going, you're in 9th grade right?" She asked and I nodded. "I go to that charter school up the street." She smiled. "Is your family nice?" I smiled and nodded. "They're extremely nice and have really treated me like their own. I can't wait until they're able to adopt me." She smiled and nodded. "I'm so happy you're doing so good. I can't believe I found you. I've been walking around all of Santa Monica and beyond looking for you. I just knew you were alive and well." She smiled, hugging me gently.

Roxanne pulled into the driveway and got out with me. I walked up to the door and Ciara opened it. "Hey Monroe, who's your friend?" She smiled, shifting Ezra to her left side. "This is my sister, Roxanne." I smiled at her. She smiled too and nodded. "Nice to meet you." Ciara smiled before shaking Roxanne's hand. "You too. I'll see you later." She smiled before walking to her car. I walked inside with a huge smile on my face, so happy that I got some closure.
