Monroe's POV:
Gwen was right about Homecoming being the best week ever. I loved all of the different dress up days and the different events after school. Today's Thursday and it's Generation Day. I was wearing one of Johnies old tie-dye shirts and a pair of mom jeans that were rolled up. When I walked up to my locker, Gwen laughed as I blushed and hugged her. "Good morning to you too." I smiled and opened my locker. "You look so cute." She smiled and opened hers. She was wearing a floral button down shirt with a high waisted blue jean skirt. "You do too." I smiled. We closed our lockers and held hands as we walked down the hallway. "So Homecoming is Saturday." Gwen smiled as we walked into our class. "And?" I sat down and she sat beside me. "Are you thinking about going?" I shrugged. "I don't know." "Really?" Gwen furrowed her eyebrows. I chuckled. "I might go." I smiled as the bell rang.
"Going to the homecoming dance?" My friend, Chloe, asked me as we walked into our Programming class. I shrugged as we sat down at the computers. "I don't know. Gwen was asking me this morning, I never gone to a dance. I don't even wear dresses all the time." She nodded. "So you're shy about it?" She asked me and I nodded. "Exactly. I don't want everyone to look at us weird you know?" I told her and she nodded. "That's true." As the bell rang, the teacher walked in, and told us to start on our lesson. I went to the app that I was creating and began.
A few minutes into the class, someone knocked on the door. I didn't bother looking up until a chorus of Aw's rang out. I looked up to see Gwen walking in, with my older brothers behind her, holding a black poster and a bouquet of flowers. I immediately started blushing and stood up. I read the poster and laughed because she knows how much I love astronomy. "So will you?" She smiled and I nodded before hugging her. Everyone clapped around us but it only felt like Gwen and I were the only two in the room.
