Word traveled fast, and by the time the weekend had ended, the whole school knew about Amelia and Luke's breakup. Rumors circled like vultures circled their prey, people gossiped about it from right when they awoke, to when they went to bed. Everyone knew it was going to happen, even the teachers saw it coming, including Liz; Luke and Amelia were a ticking time bomb that had only taken two years to blow up.

Come Monday morning, Luke was no longer feeling sorry for himself, but instead felt extreme anger and hate towards Amelia. Every little thing seemed to make the boy mad. Michael, Calum and Ashton were walking on eggshells around Luke, and Mali and Lauren spent more and more time around Corrine and Owen, afraid that Luke would lash out at them next. All they wanted to do was help, but it seemed as Luke didn't want the help. He pushed everyone away.

Even Liz noticed a change in her son, and on multiple occasions, asked him is there was anything she could do, only to be yelled at herself. Luke was beyond mad.

He was pissed.

Even Corrine had noticed a change in Luke's behavior, and was quite disgusted with him. Whenever she was Lauren and Mali come over and join her or Owen, she felt the anger rise. She could understand that he was upset over Amelia, but he didn't have the right to treat his friends the way he was. They were trying to help him, and he was being a dick about it.

Corrine sat behind the counter, during her break one Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly, the cafe hadn't been as busy as it normally was, and she found herself with a lot of free time, which was quite rare. Her nose was buried deep in her book when she suddenly heard someone muttering loudly from across the room.

Corrine cautiously lifted her head so that only her eyes could be seen, peering over the top of her book. She furrowed her brows.

Luke Hemmings was seated in one of the booths in the back corner, head in his hands, his elbows propped up on the table top. He was talking to himself, and he didn't seem happy. "What's his problem?" Niall asked, coming up beside her. He placed a coffee cup under the machine and hit a couple buttons. The smell of vanilla filled the air.

"His girlfriend cheated on him." Corrine said. "He's been like this all week."

"Ah," Niall said. "Why'd she do it?"

"Who cares?" she shrugged. "It's not my business, and I certainly do not want to get involved with it." She went back to her reading.

Several minutes passed by, and all Corrine could hear was Luke, muttering angrily to himself. "How could I have been so stupid!"  and "I'm an idiot!" ( Corrine couldn't agree more with that statement ), fell past his lips almost every five seconds, leaving her annoyed. All she wanted was some peace and quiet to read her book, but it appeared she wasn't going to get what she wanted. With a huff, she set her book on the counter and stood up. "Do I want to know where you're going?" Niall asked, as she shuffled past him.

"Nope."

"Okay. Please, don't kill anyone."

"I'll do my best."

Luke crossed his arms over his chest, and let out a huge sigh. A single week had passed by, and his mood had not changed. He was furious with Amelia and this Joey guy. He felt so stupid, that he should have listened to his friends about Amelia instead of ignoring them.

She used you

I know

She never cared about you, Luke. You were nothing to her
