Pins and needles.

That was the sensation that he felt. The feeling that you get when you foot falls asleep. It's not a very pleasant one. And the sound of a machine beeping. That was the sound that filled his ears. That and the sound of someone's voice.

Dr. McCarthy, and Haley, a nurse that worked with Luke while he was in a coma moved around the room, checking the monitors, and the drip. Dr. McCarthy wrote something down on a clip board. The two moved to exit the room when they heard a groan. They both turned around to see Luke move his head to one side, and then lift his arm to help him sit up. He opened his eyes, and turned to them. Dr. McCarthy smiled at him. "How do you feel?" he asked. Luke looked to him.

"How long have I been out?" he asked, his voice deep, and raspy.

"About four weeks." Haley said.

"F-Four weeks?" Luke stammered, his eyes growing wide. "What happened?"

"One of the bullets cause some minor damage around your heart which let to major damage. You body went into a coma to help repair yourself." Luke groaned, and let his head hit the pillow.

"So I've been in this room alone for four weeks?" Luke asked.

"Oh you weren't alone." Haley said. "Corrine hardly ever left your side. It was a task just to get her to leave to go get lunch. Refused to leave this room." Luke suddenly was more alert.

"Where is she?" he asked, rushing out his words.

"She was just in here. But she left with Owen a few moments ago." Dr. McCarthy explained.

"Can I see them?" Luke asked.

"Hold on. I want to run some tests, make sure you're alright. Then you can see them." Luke nodded. "Haley, wheel him to x-rays please." Haley nodded.

Haley wheeled Luke out of the room with the help of another nurse. "What have I missed?" Luke asked. Haley smiled.

"Not much. Your family hasn't really left the hospital. They don't do anything really. Corrine took it the hardest though. For a while she wouldn't eat, sleep or drink."

"God, I must have put her through hell."

"A little." there was loud shouting that broke up the conversation. Haley, the other nurse, and Luke all strained their necks to see what was happened. Luke growled.

"What the hell is she doing here?" he asked. Haley shook her head.

"I don't know. Brandon, call security." Brandon nodded, running off. Luke watch as Amelia started yelling. And then he saw her. In all her radiance, Luke spotted Corrine approach Amelia.

"What is she doing?" Luke asked panicked.

"I'm not sure. Let's see."

Corrine growled at Amelia as the two faced off. "I warned you to stay away from him you bitch!" Amelia hissed.

"I'm not the one who shot him remember." Corrine snapped. "That was you. You claim you love him, but last time I check, we don't shoot the ones we love Amelia!"

"I DO LOVE HIM! IT WAS FOR HIS OWN GOOD!"

"HOW! YOU ALMOST KILLED HIM AMELIA! AND RIGHT NOW HE'S FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE! HOW IS THAT FOR HIS OWN GOOD!" Corrine shouted. Amelia shut up. Tears were pouring down her face.

"I didn't mean it." she cried. "You don't understand! He was the first guy to appreciate me! Then to loose it all!"

"That was your fault! You're the one who cheated on him with Joey!"

"I'M SORRY!" Amelia screamed.

"Sorry isn't going to cut it." Corrine spat. "I'm normally a forgiving person, but I'll never forgive you for what you did to Luke. Or to me. If you loved him so much you shouldn't have thrown it all away you fucking bitch. You did this to yourself. This is all your fault." two cops came up behind Amelia, cuffing her.

"NO! GET OFF ME!" she screamed. The two cops dragged her away from everyone else.

From far away, Luke smiled. "That's my girl."

Luke was wheeled away to x-rays, much to his protest. He just wanted to see his family. Haley brought him back to the room, running a few more tests and then left. Luke sighed, and leaned his head back onto the pillow, closing his eyes. "Hi Haley." he heard someone say. Luke recognized that voice, and decided to play quiet. He felt the bed dip beside him, and someone lay down next to him.

Corrine sighed loudly. "It's over." she whispered. "Amelia's gone to jail. We don't have to worry about her anymore." A small smile appeared on Luke's face, as he opened his eyes.

"I know." he said, causing Corrine to jump. "You put on quite the performance." he laughed.

"LUKE!" Corrine was pulled into a hug. She snaked her arms around his neck, and buried her face in his neck. Luke wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to him.

"Hey, baby girl." he whispered against her skin. Corrine couldn't help but cry into his shoulder. She was too overwhelmed with emotion. Her grip tightened around his neck.

"You came back." she choked out, pulled back slightly. Luke cupped the side of her face, pulling her in for a long kiss. Corrine melted into him, overjoyed to be able to kiss him again.

"Of course." he said, pulling out. Corrine embraced him in another hug.

"Please, don't you ever do that to me again. Ever." she cried. "I need you so bad, you don't even know." she said. Luke pressed his lips against her shoulder.

"I promise baby girl. I'm not leaving you like that again." Luke held onto her tightly, letting her cry against him. He didn't want to let go of her, afraid that this was a dream, and that he might end up crashing back into reality. A reality without her. He breathed in, noting how she smelled like chicken soup with made him smile. He rubbed his hands up and down her back.

"Luke?" Corrine said. She pulled back, and rested her forehead against his, their noses touching.

"Yeah?" he asked, looking into her eyes. Corrine smiled.

"I love you." she whispered, gently kissing him. Luke kissed her back passionately.

"I love you to baby girl."
