FLASHBACK
"NO NO NO! LUKE! WAKE UP!" Corrine shouted loudly. "PLEASE, LUKE WAKE UP!" Luke's eyes were open and his breathing was uneven. "Luke, please. Wake up!" Corrine grabbed her phone, and dialed 911.
"Hello, 911 what's your emergency?"
"My boyfriend's been shot. I need an ambulance."
"Alright ma'am, where are you."
"West Hills park. Please, hurry. He's not breathing properly."
"Do know where the bullet is ma'am."
"I think it's in his chest. I don't know." she sobbed.
"Okay, an ambulance is on the way." Corrine hung up the phone, and quickly dialed up Calum.
"Hey, Corrine, did you find anything?" he asked.
"Calum-" she began, her voice cracking.
"Corrine- are you alright?"
"Luke's been shot."
END OF FLASHBACK
Corrine stared blankly at the wall of the hospital waiting room, not moving, nor speaking. She'd gone into shock, and nothing any of them did, could break her out of it. Ashton currently sat next to her, rubbing her back. "He's gonna be okay, Corrine." he whispered. She didn't respond. She just continued to stare at the wall.
A doctor walked into the waiting room, a clipboard in hand. "Luke Hemmings." he called. He watched as about twelve different people stood up.
"Is he okay?" Liz asked the doctor.
"He's stable for now." the doctor said. "He's awake, but tired. He's asking for someone named Corrine." Corrine stepped forward, and raised her hand.
"That would be me." she said.
"You may follow me." Corrine turned to Liz.
"I'll make sure he's okay." she said. Liz nodded.
"Thank you." Corrine turned towards the doctor, and followed him down a corridor, and to a room. Corrine found it unsettling the entire time, and she was afraid of what she might find.
"This is his room, you can just go in." the doctor said.
"Thank you." Corrine took a deep breath and peered into the room. Luke was lying on the hospital bed, tubes running through his arm. He looked paler than normal, and had bags under his eyes. He breathed in and out slowly. Corrine placed a hand over her mouth.
Having a strange feeling that he was being watched, Luke shifted himself so that he was in a sitting position. "Who's there?" he asked. Corrine stepped into the room. "Cory." Luke said. Tears formed in his eyes, and he opened his arms. Corrine wasted no time, embracing him carefully in a hug. Corrine held on to him tightly.
"Don't you ever do that to me again!" she cried. "Please." Luke pressed his lips against her collarbone.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." he whispered against her skin.
"What happened to you?" Corrine asked. "You were fine when you left, and the next thing I know you're dying." she choked.
"I had a run in with Amelia." Luke said. He felt Corrine tensed up in his arms.
"She did this?" Luke nodded. Corrine pulled back, and for the second time in his life, Luke witnessed and angry side to Corrine.
"That bitch claims she loves you then shoots you, leaving you for dead. I swear to god she better not show her face around hear because I'll kill her." she snapped. She stood up, and moved towards the door. Luke, panicked, grabbing her hand.
"Cory where are you going." she faced Luke.
"I'm calling the cops. This has to end." Luke pulled her into him.
"Wait. Don't leave me." Luke pleaded. Corrine's gaze softened. "Stay. Please." he whispered. Corrine climbed back into the bed with him, resting her head on his chest. He wrapped an arm around her, holding her into him. "I love you."
"I love you to."
once Luke fell asleep, Corrine quietly slipped out of his room, back to where everyone else was. Liz immediately rushed over to her prepared to bombard her with question. Corrine held her hands up. "He's okay. Just really tired. He's asleep." she said. Liz sighed in relief.
"Do you know what happened to him?" Liz asked her. "Aside the obvious getting shot."
"Yeah." Corrine said.
"Who did it?" Ashton asked.
"Who do you think?" Corrine said. They boys jaws hardened.
"That bitch." Michael hissed.
"Amelia did this?" Lauren said. Corrine nodded. "Can I kill her?" Lauren asked.
"I'm calling the cops." Liz said. "She's hurt my baby too much." Liz walked away from the group, dialing 911. Corrine sighed. Owen walked over, and wrapped his arms around her.
"He's okay, Cory. You found him just in time. You saved him."
"I know. I know." she said. "I'm tired."
"You wanna go home, and sleep?" he asked.
"I don't want to leave him."
"We'll watch him." Calum said. "We'll call if anything changes."
"Okay. Thanks." Corrine let Owen lead her to the elevator.
"Corrine." Ashton said, stopping them. He ran over to them.
"Yes Ashton."
"For what it's worth, you're a much better girlfriend than Amelia, and you actually make Luke happy. So thank you."
Corrine spent the next few days in the hospital, keeping Luke company. She arrived early in the morning, and left late at night. Police were out searching for Amelia who seemed to have gone off the grid. That bothered Corrine greatly, knowing that she wasn't behind bars.
Corrine walked into Luke's room Thursday morning with a smile. Luke was getting released tomorrow, and he was excited about it. Luke smiled when he saw her. "Hey." he grinned.
"Hey. How are you?"
"Not so tired. My shoulder is still kinda sore though." he said. Corrine sat down on the bed.
"Well you did get shot Luke." she said.
"No really! I thought I fell from a tree." he teased.
"Shut up."
"Make me." Corrine leaned down, placing a kiss on his lips. Luke kissed back, placing his hand behind her neck, pulling her into him. She pulled out.
"Easy there lover boy. Don't break me." she breathed. Luke laughed.
"Whatever you say love."
"Such a romantic."
"But I'm your romantic."
"Of course." Corrine lied down next to him. "Are you excited to go home?" she asked.
"Yes. I can't wait to go home and watch Mean Girls." he laughed.
"I'm being ditched for a movie."
"No, you'd be watching it with me."
"Oh I would?"
"Of course. My favourite movie, with my favourite girl." Luke smiled. Corrine shook her head.
"You're so lucky I love you." she said. Luke rolled over slightly to kiss her.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." he mumbled.
