forgetful

Rj closed and locked the door to Maine's condo after letting himself in. He had a spare key and would often come over on his free time. The unit was relatively quiet except for the hum of the traffic below. He settled himself on the sofa in the living room and pulled out his phone to contact Maine and tell her that he was at her condo.

The message app had barely started when he heard something from the bedroom.

"Arrrgggghhh!!! Shit! Shit!" it sounded like Maine.

"Kasi naman...." Rj put down his phone to listen some more. Then he heard a door open and then some muffled footsteps. He stood up and slowly made his way to Maine's bedroom door.

"Haay buset!" he heard the voice again as he pressed his ear against the bedroom door.

He then heard a loud crash.

"Ayyy....shit!" he was now sure it was Maine talking; but to whom?

Rj grabbed the doorknob and opened the door. He caught a glimpse of Maine's ankle as she entered the bathroom and closed the door. Her bedroom was dimly lit.

"Maine...Love...okay ka lang?" Rj said as he approached the bathroom door.

"....Rj?....uhh yeah, Babe...I'm okay....be out in a bit...."

"You sure ha?"

"Yeah...wait lang...."

Maine came out of the bathroom with a towel around her head and in house clothes. She had just taken a bath. Rj was half-lying on his bed, his feet dangling on the side. He sat up when he heard Maine come out of the bathroom.

"Anong nangyari? I heard sounds from the outside e. I was just going to text you sana na I was here na....kala ko wala ka pa...."

"Kanina pa ako nandito....took a shower...."

"Ahhh...."

"Kaso...."

"Kaso ano?"

"Kaso I forgot that I threw my towel in the wash kanina so I didn't have a towel to use after my bath....ayun, I had to run out and get a new towel...."

"Hmmm...so you mean...."

"Ano na naman yang iniisip mo Ricardo?" Maine said as Rj wiggled his eyebrows and hugged her by the waist when she came close to him.
