It had been a long day for both. After travelling half way around the world, they were both worked as soon as they got to their destination. But professionals as they are, they worked without complaint.
After a late dinner and quick shower, they were now settled in bed, Maine leaning against Rj's shoulder.
"...ang ganda pala ng Morocco...."
"Oo...maganda...."
"Hmm....ay! Alam mo ba, Babe...na-upgrade ako sa first class....ang sosyal!"
"....."
"...nag-s-slide yung isang panel so super private yung seat ko....parang maliit na room...."

"....sana nga sabay tayo papunta dito....."

"......." no reply; Rj had fallen asleep due to exhaustion.
Maine looked up and observed her hubby's peaceful, relaxed features; his long eyelashes and thin lips. She stretched up a little and kissed his lips before settling her head on her pillow, her back to him. Rj turned and rested his arm and leg on her and buried his face into her neck.
Maine woke up to sounds of thrashing and movement of the bed. Rj was moving his head from side to side, face contorted and legs kicking.
"J....J.....Love....wake up....wake up...."
"......" He opened his eyes and looked at Maine. Sweat now visible on his forehead.
She instinctively wiped his sweat with her hand and kissed him on the cheek.
"....shh....it was just a dream...."
He embraced her.
".....akala ko nawala ka....di kita mahanap...."
".....I'm here....shhh....I'm here......don't worry....."
He buried his face into her hair and cried. He hugged her tightly.
"....don't go.....don't leave......please......"
She patted his chest as she lay her head on his chest.
"Tahan na....I won't go away...."
".....p...promise?" he hugged her tighter and buried his face more into her hair.
"...shh...yes....promise...."
"......"
She patted his arm gently and rhythmically until she sensed that his body relaxed once again and his heartbeat had steadied – he went back to sleep.
She tried to release herself from his embrace but he moved every time she tried so she just closed her eyes and went back to sleep, locked in his embrace.
He woke up to the sound of Maine's voice talking to someone.
"....opo....gigisingin ko na po sya....breakfast.....calltime....."
Rj opened his eyes and saw Maine standing by the adjoining room door talking to Nanay Maryann.
Maine closed the door and turned.
"Good morning, Love..." she said with a smile as she approached him and kissed him on the lips.
"Bangon na....we'll be having breakfast muna then shoot na...."
"Good morning...."
"Okay ka na, Love?
"Oo naman...okay ako....bakit?"
"You had a bad dream last night....you were crying...."
"....I was?.....I thought I lost you in the souk....sa market dito....."
"Akala ko para kang baby na pagod na pagod tapos nagka-nightmare....Di pa tayo nag-s-souk, mawawala na ako?"

"This happens to most kids who are exhausted but can't sleep or wake up kaagad after a long and tiring day....parang may sobrang energy na gustong kumawala na ewan....they wake up crying...."

"And besides, di pa tayo nag-s-souk.....di ako mawawala...." she smiled.

"O sya, bangon na at mag-shower ka na....your clothes are in the bathroom na...."
