Aleks dragged Eddie up to his room. He was going to do this; Eddie deserved an answer.
He locked the door behind him as they entered; he really didn't want Ze or Sp00n to hear or come in during this discussion.
He walked to his bed where Eddie was already sitting, seeming nervous. Aleks couldn't blame him; he'd be nervous too if he was locked in a room with a freak like him he'd only met a day before.
He really hoped Sly wouldn't just leave because of that. He really liked him and losing his first friend to his bonus body parts would be devastating.
He sat down next to him, remembering that, since Sly already knew, there was no need to hide his ears that were uncomfortably hidden beneath his hat.
"Can I?" he probed uncertainly, motioning his beanie.
"Uh, sure."
He took his hat off and placed it on his bedside table. He lifted his ears from his curly locks and awaited a reaction, positive of negative.
However, instead of giving him a hint about how he felt about them, Eddie asked a simple question.
"Uh... how did you... get them?"
"Experiments," he stated, trying to keep the subject of his past as vague as possible.
Eddie cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly to the side. Aleks had to admit, the sight was kind of cute.
"'Experiments'? What do you mean 'experiments'?"
He sighed, realizing that Eddie wasn't going to let it go unless he got a straight answer.
"I was sold to an illegal laboratory when I was a kid, they injected me with all kinds of stuff but they never told me what it was for. It didn't matter, apparently they never worked anyway. When the police finally came, they vaccinated me with one last thing before I was brought back to an orphanage. Since it didn't do anything, I thought it didn't work and just shrugged it off, but then..." he trailed off.
"It worked. It worked and it gave you those."
"Y-You actually believe me?" he stuttered, disbelieving.
Sly laughed quietly, "I'll admit, it is kind of hard to, but there's the proof right there on your head."
"Heh, yeah."
"We should go to the bathroom, you know, to fix you up from the beatings," Eddie offered, gulping loudly after.
"Yeah, that's a good idea," he approved, remembering his stinging body.
Sly got up and extended his hand to him in order to help him up. Considering he could barely manage walking around, he didn't deny the help and grabbed his hand, pulling himself up.
They left Aleks' room and walked to the closest bathroom. The bruised Russian sat down on the closed toilet lid as the Latino searched the cupboard for the First Aid kit.
"Found it!" Sly shouted victoriously.
He waited as Eddie took it out and brought it to him.
"You'll need to take off your hoodie and shit."
"Oh yeah, give me a sec," he said, getting up to take his clothes off.
He struggled a little to take his t-shirt and hoodie without it hurting, but managed. He threw his clothes into the corner of the room and sat back down. He didn't even want to bother to look at himself in the mirror, all that was do was make him cringe or throw up.
He looked up at Eddie, wondering what was taking so long for him to get started. The Hispanic teen was looking at his bare chest with a look of admiration and sadness, red faced.
"You okay, dude?" he questioned, a blush visibly creeping its way to his own pale face. He cursed his tail mentally as it started wagging furiously.
Eddie shook his head vigorously, snapping out of whatever trance he was in, gaze locking onto something behind him.
"You... have a tail too?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, forgot to mention it, sorry. It doesn't change anything though, right?"
"No, it's just that," the teen in front of his started. "I wasn't really expecting that. It's pretty fucking adorable."
Eddie leaned down and started mending his wounds as his blush increased and his tail sped up, and, soon enough, he was done. Although his body was still in pain, the soreness wasn't as bad anymore.
"There, all patched up!" Sly announced, getting up from his chest.
"Thanks."
"Hey, don't sweat it."
He made his way to his clothes that was still in the messy pile in the corner and put them back on.
"Aleks?"
"Yes?"
"You know you're going to have to tell the guys, right?"
"Yeah, I know," he muttered, stuffing his tail back into his sweatshirt.
"When are you going to do it?"
He pulled his hood up since he had left his hat in his room. "Tonight."
"Okay," Sly said, walking out the restroom.
"Eddie?"
"Yeah?" the Homie leader responded, poking his head back into Aleks' view.
"Would you mind... would you mind telling them... with me?"
Sly smiled a warm and sincere smile, "Of course, Aleks. Don't worry, the guys aren't the type to just drop someone out of nowhere, even for your case."
He breathed a sigh if relief, "Thanks, man. Really."
"No problem, Homie!"
With that said, Sly left the small room to do God knows what, leaving him alone to do whatever he pleased.
After a brief debate with himself about what he should do, he settled for just going back to his room and laying o his bed to think about how he was going to tell the Creatures tonight.
He jumped on his bed after closing the door to his room again and closed his eyes; how was he going to do it?
He obviously couldn't be as upfront as he had been with Eddie, the only reason he did that was because Sly already knew. He either have to approach the subject cautiously or just be direct and tell them. The first option was preferable, for now at least.
But, how would they react? Would they be as understanding as Sly or would they kick him out as soon as he revealed his secret? Sure, Eddie had assured him that they weren't like that, that they would be just as accepting as he had been, but he couldn't keep his thoughts from wandering to the worst possible scenarios.
After an hour-long nap and a half-hour more of thinking, Aleks wasn't half as confident as he was about telling the Creatures; he had spent so much time thinking about the most horrible outcomes he could imagine that telling the rest of the guys was barely an option anymore.
Even though he really didn't feel sure about this, he knew he had to do this sooner or later, before they actually got close and the reason of his secret became something like a 'lack of trust' in them.
He was going to do this. He was going to do this and everything would work out just fine, just like in the movies or books. His awful story had to finish itself with a happy ending, just like every other, right?
"Aleks, dinner!" he heard Eddie call out from downstairs.
He gulped, his determination wavering rapidly; this was it.
