"What?" he asked, completely dumbfounded.
Though the majority of Sly's description were pretty vague, the last comment was obviously something that wasn't applied to just anyone, only him. The shock had been enough to numb his emotions and his thoughts enough for him to not thoroughly process the situation.
Sly let the hands he used to cover his mouth back onto his lap, getting up from his desk chair. He motioned for Aleks to do the same, which he quickly complied to without a word, taking a few steps further to approach the other.
Just by the way he looked, Aleks could easily tell Eddie was very nervous and clearly regretting the too specific comment he squealed during his love-struck state. He saw Eddie fidgeting with his hands, biting his lip ever so slightly before he looked up at him, letting his hand rub the back of his neck.
"Look, I-I maybe, kind of, sort of," he started, stuttering madly as he stared down at his shoes.
He heard Eddie whisper something so quietly even he couldn't hear. He tried making out what Eddie had said, but settled for asking for an audible clarification instead.
"What?" he repeated, still trying to process the situation.
"I-I... I've liked you for a while now and I've been wondering if you maybe want to go on a... date?"
Even though he tried giving his response, he wasn't capable of forming words at the moment, the sudden invitation completely taking him by surprise. Just as he was wrapping his head around it, Eddie spoke again, this time in a sadder but assuring tone.
"I-It's okay if you don't want to. I understand, really; I mean, who would want to date little old m-?"
"Yes!" he interrupted loudly, excitement getting the better of him. He quickly realized his sudden loud outburst and repeated his response in a shy tone, a blush rushing to his cheeks in embarrassment. "What I meant to say was, 'yeah, why the fuck not?'."
He saw a glimmer of faith shine in Eddie's beautiful brown eyes as he stared into his own with a hopeful smile.
"Really?" he asked, utterly incredulous.
His own grin grew larger as he saw his crush's eyes sparkle with glee; he loved seeing Eddie when he was happy and loved being the reason for his happiness even more.
He nodded vigorously to assure Sly his response was undoubtedly definitive and honest, tail wagging as fast as it possibly could. It didn't matter much to him anymore; the blushes, the shy and nervousness as well as the tail wagging were all ways his body was using to inform him he was romantically pinning for the Latino, which he didn't mind in the least.
"Awesome! How about tonight? Is eight good for you?"
"Yeah, yeah definitely!"
He remembered the fact that, when he last checked the time a while ago, it had been close to being seven. He started walking out the door backwards, trying to keep his eyes on the beaming Hispanic for as long as he could.
"I'm going to make myself not look like shit, okay? What are we doing exactly?"
The other shrugged, obviously no longer having a care in the world. "I don't even fucking know yet, but I'll think of something. I don't really give two shits about what we're doing, honestly, just as long as I'm with you."
He stopped walking backwards blindly as his face turned into a bright red with a small grin. "That was so fucking cheesy, you know that?"
Eddie's blush increased visibly as well as he smirked. "I know but don't act like you didn't like it."
He rolled his eyes and walked out the door, closing it behind him. As he practically skipped to his own, he was interrupted as he heard Sly's voice whooping from his own room, his victorious yells muffled by the door.
"Fuck yes! Best fucking day ever!"
He couldn't help but let his own heart swell up in joy as he continued his way gleefully, cheeks starting to ache from his uncontrollable growing smile.
He shut the door behind him and practically jumped on his bed. He squeezed one of his pillows as hard as he could, shouting animatedly like his date was across the hall.
"Fucking yes!"
He heard rushed footsteps bang on the floor loudly, making his ears twitch slightly. Using his dog-like hearing abilities, he could tell that two people were obviously running to his door. He sat up and waited for the two expected guests, still mentally shouting happy cries of success to himself.
Out of nowhere, just as he expected, Seamus and James barged into his room rowdily.
"What happened? Did he tell you?" James guessed, noticeably content with their loud triumphant yells.
"Or did you tell him?" Seamus estimated.
He raised an eyebrow, very amused by the duo. "What do you mean 'did I tell him?'? What would I have told him?"
They both rolled their eyes, unimpressed. James smirked, crossing his arms over his chest cockily.
"You're acting as if it wasn't completely obvious."
"What do you mean?" he questioned, this time legitimately confused by the meaning of their insinuations.
Seamus sighed, shaking his head disappointedly. "You two are the worst at keeping secrets," he teased.
"Believe me, I've done a pretty good job in the past."
"But what happened?" James inquired again, annoyed at his lack of an answer.
He rolled his eyes. "Why don't you go ask him?"
"Fine," Seamus said.
They both left and opened the door across the hall without shutting his, giving him a clear view of Eddie's triumphant dance moves.
He stifled a laughed at the hilarious scene playing out before him, trying to stay unnoticed by his date and observed what was happening across from him. Since he obviously already knew what had played out only moments before, he didn't pay much attention to Eddie's explanation but more so to the comment he added afterwards.
"I can't fucking believe it; my biggest crush ever is actually going out with me! I can't fucking believe someone as flawless as him said yes to go on a date with me!"
He watched as Eddie giggled cutely, shifting animatedly from one foot to another as a blush grew on his face. Even he didn't think so greatly of himself so having the person he saw as impeccable say that about him made his heart resonate with pure delight.
Sly looked over Seamus' shoulder, the only thing blocking him from the other's view, and noticed him observing the three, all while beaming charmingly. Sly gave him a small wave, which he quickly returned, biting his lip with a smile.
He saw Eddie's face fall as he realized something, causing him to glare at the official couple with a red face, clearly embarrassed.
"What's wrong, Sly? Are you mad that we let Aleks see your amazing dance moves?" Seamus probed with a playful edge to his voice.
He laughed as he finally understood his crush's mortification, enjoying Sly's blush increase more as he heard his snickering.
Eddie pushed the two Creatures out of his room, still red faced. He had to admit, seeing Eddie this embarrassed was beyond adorable.
"You guys are fucking dicks," he heard the peeved teen mutter.
"Excuse me?" James asked. "I didn't quite catch that."
"You guys are motherfucking cunts, that's what I said!" Eddie responded loudly, slamming the door.
Not even a second later, Sly cracked it open just enough for his hand to visible, a timid and cute smile shifting from his previous scowl.
"Not you, Aleks, by the way," he assured shyly, closing the door softly that time.
