Aleks sighed and gripped the bathroom sink counter tightly. He looked at his reflection in the mirror, thanking God for the absence of people in the restaurant’s restroom. He sighed shakily once more, tears threatening to fall as he remembered his horrible past. He tried reminding himself that it wasn’t Jordan’s fault for being curious, he had done the same and doing the same led him to create a heated argument between two of his friends.

He looked down at his clenching hands, making his shaggy hair cover his face slightly. He heard the door swing open but stayed still, not caring about the person’s thoughts once they saw his odd position.

A single tear slid down his cheek and fell onto the marble of the counter. He felt a hand grip his shoulder softly but didn’t even bother to look up.

The hand shook him slightly. “Aleks, are you okay?”

He recognized the accented voice easily and shook his head lightly in response. Strong arms wrapped themselves on his small and beaten frame, hugging him tightly. He didn’t hug back, nor did he start bawling on Eddie’s shoulder, he only nuzzled himself into the crook of his neck, appreciating the delicate embrace.

He heard the Latino exhale regretfully. “I’m really sorry for yelling at you, really. I-I didn’t mean to snap, I just- I’m such a fucking idiot.”

“But you’re our idiot, and we wouldn’t change that for anything,” he told him, voice soft as he spoke for all of the guys as well as himself. “I don’t even care about that anymore, so just forget it.”

“So, you’re okay now?”

He smiled sadly and nodded, not wanting to make his friend worry. Sly only kissed his head, making his tail wag uncontrollably and a blush to creep its way to his pale face.

Eddie released him, making his heart fall a little, and motioned him to follow him back to their booth.

He walked behind him and smiled as he saw the Creatures grin when they saw them.

“Finally, you got your fucking chance back!” James yelled at Eddie with a smile, not caring for the children around that might hear his cursing.

He raised a single eyebrow up, perplexed by the meaning of James’ outburst. He saw Sly glare at him as they both sat down, which caused his loud friend to raise his hands up in mock surrender with a content smirk.

“We ordered your special, by the way. We didn’t know what drink you wanted so I just got you a Pepsi Max,” Dan informed him.

“I don’t know why, ‘cause Coke is obviously better,” Kootra muttered, causing Dan to roll his eyes.

He just shrugged with a sheepish grin. “I wouldn’t know; I’ve never had a soda before.”

“Never?” Kootra asked, unbelieving to which he responded by shaking his head. “You’ve been missing out, man.”

He laughed as they started conversing on various topics, waiting for their food to arrive.

“So, how long have you two been together?” he asked Seamus and James, beaming

“Six months, I think,” James replied.

“Six months, twelve days, eighteen hours, ten minutes, twenty seconds and counting,” Seamus clarified.

“Damn, so you’re one of those relationship people… alright,” James chuckled.

“Nah, I just made that up.”

As they laughed, the waitress arrived with an extravagant silver platter placed carefully on her open palm, the food they ordered steaming on top of it.

She carefully placed the meals on the table, surprisingly remembering who had ordered which one along with the drinks.

“Have a nice meal. Please, if there’s any problem feel free to advise me right away,” she said, a warm smile on her face before going to another table.

“She’s nice,” he complimented, impressed with her efficient and polite ways.

Everyone muttered their agreements as they started eating, except for Sly, who had murmered something else so quietly it was barely audible.

“I guess.”

“You guess?” Seamus inquired.

“Yeah, she was really polite and nice and is doing her job like a fucking pro, damn,” he added.

Sly only shrugged silently, his jaw visibly clenching.

“Oh, I get it,” James said, another smirk on his face before he took a bite out of his burger.

“What?” Aleks questioned, curious about Sly’s disagreement himself.

He swallowed quickly. “Isn’t it obvious? Sly’s jea-”

He was interrupted by his sarcastic boyfriend elbowing him harshly with in the side.

“Ow! What the fuck, babe!” he yelled.

The blonde only looked at him with an expected face, exaggeratedly motioning his hand towards Aleks evidently.

He looked up from his meal and at the two with a puzzled expression, confused about the obvious hand gestures and elbowings.

“What?” the peeved one in the couple asked, obviously not understanding whatever Seamus was not so discreetly hinting at, before looking at Eddie’s narrowed eyes once more, reminding him of whatever he was in need of remembering.

“Oh! Sorry, forgot,” he apologized embarrassedly, scratching his left arm.

“What just happened?” Jordan requested.

“Yeah, I’m really confused,” Dan approved.

“It’s nothing, trust me. It’s just James being a dumb,” Sly assured, pushing his glasses back, shooting one last glare at James before giving the two puzzled teens a comforting smile.

He stayed silent, trying to complete James’ unfinished sentence on his own. Even though he tried his best to look at all the possibilities of what the uncompleted word could be, but only ‘jealous’ as a logical answer.

Was Eddie jealous? If so, what was he jealous about? He had no clue, no matter how long he tried to figure it out. He tried to, though, contemplating every option he could think of before getting interrupted by Jordan.

“Aleks?”

He looked up suddenly, all of a sudden hearing Koots’ voice through his brainstorming.

“Yeah?”

“Were you listening?”

He grinned awkwardly. “Nope, sorry.”

“Wow, rude, man,” Jordan joked with a chuckle. “I asked you how you liked living in the Creature House so far.”

“It has its pros and cons, pros being I’m not living in Hell anymore and I’m actually having fun with my friends. Cons being the fact that I’m in the room across this dork and I have to deal with him all day, every day now,” he explained, playfully poking Eddie on the shoulder.

“Hey! First I’m an idiot now I’m a dork? What the fuck am I going to be next?” Sly shouted, beaming and clearly amused.

He rubbed his chin, acting deep in thought. “I was thinking something like bitch boy or loud hyper fuckhead, but I don’t know yet.”

Eddie smiled wider and shoved him playfully before pouting cutely. “You’re mean.”

“I try.”

He heard James and Seamus giggle, making him remember that they weren’t alone. He glanced at the two who were just whispering things and twittering to each other.

He rolled his eyes; this time, he didn’t even want to know.
