As soon as their lips pressed together, Aleks felt something burn inside him. It was the best sensation in the world; love. Not just any kind of love; pure, perfect and addicting love. As the amazing feeling took over every thought, his body acted on instinct, doing everything at the right time. For the first time in his life, his thoughts weren’t engulfed with sadness, paranoia or anger, just undeniable bliss. He had longed for this emotion for as long as he could remember and, now that he had finally achieved it, he wasn’t about to let anything come between it.
When his thoughts started to be clear once more, he noticed Eddie had stayed still the entire time. He slowly pulled back, nervous to have done something wrong. He opened his eyes gently, being greeted with an odd sight.
Eddie had in fact not moved an inch. He still stayed there, eyes closed and the stupidest grin he had ever seen on his face. He eyed him up and down, trying to identify whatever had made Sly freeze in such a strange manner.
Out of nowhere, just as he was looking out towards the lake, he heard a loud thud resonate closely to him. He hurriedly looked for the source of the noise, eyes not staying in one place for more than a second in his state of panic.
He discovered the cause of the alarming sound; Eddie, it seemed, had just fell to the ground, fainting, the same goofy smile adorning his love-struck expression. Although the situation was fairly hilarious, Aleks felt panic rush through him as he leaned over his date as quick as a flash.
“Eddie?” he asked, voice filled with worry.
After receiving no response, the Russian was starting to convince himself that he actually broke Eddie, but soon enough crossed that possibility off, snapping himself back to thinking logically. He tried to think of a solution but to no avail. As corny as it sounded, the thought of a true love kiss came into his mind as he rolled his eyes, convinced it wouldn’t work. He leaned down anyways and pressed his lips against Eddie’s unmoving ones, deciding that there was no harm in trying.
Moments later, he felt Sly kiss back suddenly, smiling against his lips. He pulled back gently and opened his eyes, being greeted by the face of a loving Latino.
“Hey,” he greeted with a smirk.
Eddie’s adoring smile formed into a confused frown, finally noticing where he was actually laying. “Hey. What the fuck am I doing on the ground, exactly?”
“I think you fainted.”
Eddie’s face gained a charming deep shade of red as he chuckled sheepishly. “Really? Damn, sorry about that.”
“It’s alright; after all, I am an amazing kisser,” he joked sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
“Damn right you are,” Eddie agreed, winking with a cute grin. The Latino glanced up and down at him, a smirk of his own growing noticeably on his face as he cocked up an eyebrow.
“I see that I am too, judging by how you can’t keep yourself off of me,” he added slyly, cockiness coating his tone.
For half a second, Aleks had no idea what he was taking about, but realization soon appeared on his face as he realized he was still on top of his date, his hands on either side of Eddie’s body and his arms extended out to keep him for falling. He hurriedly got off, sitting back down at a safe distance next to him, red faced as he glanced the other way.
“Sorry,” he murmured shyly, looking down.
Eddie sat up and leaned over to kiss his jaw softly with a satisfied smirk, causing his tail to involuntarily wag its way out of his sweatshirt. Thankfully enough, the place where they resided was deserted and it was dark enough to be barely noticeable if they’re people to walk by.
Eddie giggled cutely as he noticed his blush shine through the darkness and the wagging of his fluffy brown tail, giving his red cheek a light peck.
“You’re too cute, Aleks.”
The smile that was making its way to his face faded away abruptly as confusion invaded his love-blinded thoughts; what was this? They obviously weren’t friends, they were something more now. Friends with benefits, perhaps? The thought alone made Aleks cringe with disappointment; he wanted to call Eddie his and vice versa, to be able to show their love to the world, not keep it locked away in some sort of secret guilty pleasure.
“Aleks, what’s wrong?” Eddie questioned, eyebrows knitted up in worry.
“Eddie?”
“Yeah?”
“What are we?” he asked finally, eyes shifting to meet Sly’s.
The question itself seemed to take Eddie aback. He saw as Eddie bit his lip harshly, a hesitant glimmer in his eyes, as if he knew the answer but did not want to reveal it to him. The little glimmer that shown in his brown eyes upset him further; what if that’s what Eddie was doing, lying about his emotions, scared of telling him this was all an unwanted pleasure he couldn’t deprive himself of?
“Whatever you want us to be, Aleks,” Eddie told him softly.
“It wouldn’t be fair for me to decide that without you giving me your input. Forcing you into something… that’s not what I want. I want you to be happy. I want us to be together too but, that’s just it; being together might not make you happy. What I want is to be sure that I’ll always have someone loving me, and most of all I want that person to be you but, if it doesn’t make you happy, that’s… fine, just… fine.”
Eddie made his way next to him and kissed his head ever so gently, taking his hand and rubbing small circles on it with his thumb.
“Oh, Aleks,” he started sorrowfully. “Your happiness matters to me in ways you can’t even fucking imagine. Don’t try to convince me you’re not sad or angry; not only are you really fucking bad at it but it makes me feel like you don’t care about your own happiness. You know what makes me happy more than anything?”
He looked up at his from the corner of his eye, staying silent.
“You do. You’re the one that makes me happy. Sure I’m always giggly and stuff but you’re the first person that can make me happy just by laughing or smiling. I would do anything just to be able to call you mine.”
Aleks’ expression became hopeful as he looked up with a faithful smile, similar to Eddie’s when he had first confessed.
“How about just fucking asking, then?”
Eddie laughed, giving his hand a slight squeeze. “Aleks, will you give me the honor of being my perfect boyfriend?”
He nodded vigorously, pressing his lips against his once more as he wrapped his arms around his neck, a wide grin plastered on his face.
