He slowly went downstairs, contemplating his approach. Once he arrived to the kitchen, everyone was back, seated at the same spots they were seated yesterday. Judging by the fancy boxes and fortune cookies, they had ordered Chinese takeout for dinner.

"Hey Aleks," they greeted, going back to their conversation.

"Uh, hey."

Eddie sent him an encouraging glance and handed him his own food. He looked inside and saw something that didn't look too bad.

"What's this?"

"We weren't sure what to get you so we got you the chicken special."

"Okay."

Eddie gave him the chopsticks and he doubtfully grabbed them. He fumbled with his fingers and food, trying to understand how they worked. In all honestly, he had never eaten a Chinese meal once in his life, so he had never used chopsticks either.

He tried to keep his attempts as discreet as possible, and for a while, it worked. It worked until Eddie noticed and giggled.

"You don't know how to use chopsticks, do you?"

"Nope, I have no fucking idea what I'm doing, dude."

"Look," Sly spoke, showing how to position his fingers and move to grab his food.

He tried to do it and succeeded, finally getting the chance to eat the foreign food.

"Damn dude, this is pretty good!" he exclaimed, taking another bite.

"I know, right?"

Aleks rapidly finished eating his dinner, savoring every bite. Soon enough, the rest of the guys did as well.

"So, what do you guys want to do?" Dan inquired.

"Well, Beyond Two Souls just came out, how about you stream it with me, Aleks?" James invited.

"Sure, what's it about?"

"Some girl, Jennie or something, and a spirit that follows her around destroying shit."

He chuckled, "Sounds interesting enough."

"Then let's go!"

"Wait!"

Everyone paused what they were doing and looked at him, looks demanding an explanation for his loud outburst.

He looked at the friend who already knew the reason for his yell, trying to get another encouraging look to help reveal his secret.

Eddie coughed, "Before you go, there's something we need to say and it'd be best to do it now, while everyone is in the same place."

"Are you guys... dating?" Ze assume.

"No!" they chorused, red faced.

"No, no we aren't, Ze. What I have to say has nothing to do with that," he informed, a blush still clear on his features.

"Well, what is it? I need to upload some more GTA," Seamus rushed, growing impatient.

"Uh, well, funny story, you see... Damn, how do I explain this?" Sly started, not knowing how to introduce his predicament.

Before he knew it, he was freaking out again, asking himself questions that could only be answered with negative possibilities. Out of pure panic, Aleks just pulled the hood off his head, revealing his furry dog ears.

"That's one way of doing it," Eddie stated.

"What the fuck?" all of them except Jordan yelled.

"A-Aleks, what are those... things on your head?" Jordan questioned, sounding scared.

"My ears."

"We know that they are, but why the fuck do you have them?" Sp00n interrogated, sounding just as terrified as Koots.

"If you want an explanation, I'm going to have to narrate a part of my life that's... not so fun."

"Go for it."

"Long story short, I was sold to a freaky ass illegal lab when I was just a kid. I was the only human there except for the fucking insane scientists, all the other tests subjects were just animals. Anyways-"

"Tests subjects?" Dan asked, eyeing his ears.

"I was getting to that. Anyways, as I was saying, in the lab, they always injected me with a bunch of shit I didn't know about, it didn't really matter because, apparently, the injections never worked. One day, the day the police found the lab, they put something in me. When the police found me, I was sent to a foster home and was adopted by that dick. Years went by and nothing happened, so I just shrugged it of as nothing, but later on-"

"Whatever they gave him worked and gave him those," Eddie finished, grinning at him.

He smiled back at him thankfully, glad he was helping like he promised. He was sure that, without Eddie supporting him, he wouldn't have been able to do this.

"Those- Those things aren't normal," James stated, shaking his head, disbelieving.

"Yeah, they're kind of..." Kootra trailed off.

"Freaky," Seamus finished.

His ears flattened on his head, tears brimming his eyes. He knew it; Eddie was wrong, they were just going to kick him out without a second thought.

Without thinking, he ran to his room, tears now streaming freely down his cheeks. He ran and slammed the door, sliding against it and sobbing into his knees.

He hated being a hybrid; it was one thing in the long list of things that ruined his fucking life. Because of his weird ass added body parts, he was going to lose his first ever group of friends.

For once in his life, he wasn't being pushed around, bullied, beaten or mocked in school or at home. And he had ruined it, ruined it by thinking it would be a good idea to just talk about his secret. For the first time, he had been happy. He had been happy and it was his own fault that it was over.

"I'm such a fuck-up," he though miserably.

His sobbing was interrupted by a familiar Latino voice yelling downstairs, and, by the sound of it, he was furious.

"When did you guys get so fucking judgmental? Aleks was scared out of his mind about telling you guys and you know what I said? I said that you guys weren't the type to judge others but I guess I was wrong. You guys all really like him, and now that he's revealed his deepest secret to you, thinking you would be understanding, you're all acting as if he was some sort of alien. He's still the same guy and his ears don't change that! I honestly don't give a shit about physical appearance and I thought you didn't either, but apparently you do and if you guys are seriously going to judge him because of that, you're fucking assholes."

He took a shaky breath and lifted an ear to hear better.

"Who cares if they're 'freaky'? They're what make him even more special than he already is. Did you even listen to his story? He's been through shit his whole life and I think the last thing he needs if his so-called friends abandon him when he clearly needs someone there for him! So do what you want, judge him, kick him out, I don't care! I'll be there for him no matter what! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go comfort my amazing friend because of your fucking ignorance!"

He heard Eddie stomp upstairs and knock on his door softly.

"Aleks? Can I come in?"

He crawled to the closest corner and hugged his knees again.

"Yes," he croaked out.

Immediately after he allowed it, Sly rushed in, closing the door carefully and running to him.

He slid new to him and gave him a sympathetic look.

"Need a hug?"

He nodded vigorously and felt Sly's arms wrap around him, rocking them both slowly as he hummed a nice tune. Aleks couldn't help but start sobbing all over again.

"I'm such a fuck-up, Eddie," he hiccuped between his crying.

Eddie shushed him quietly, "Don't say that; you're an amazing person, Aleks, and nothing, not even ears and a tail, can convince me otherwise."
